I was thinking someone on here tried that and got told they couldn't choose it. Hmmm. It might be worth a shot. Ordering another Milanese would be pretty easy, maybe.

That is correct..they will not swap the band for modern buckles. Already tried and I got a direct line to someone higher up than an apple rep. It's not even an option. They Are going to do all preorders first because there are so many people waiting for the modern buckle watch. I wouldn't count on seeing any straps until July/August.
Did they mention if we should expect to start seeing these ship earlier than our expected ship times? My ship date is 12-25 so thats' essentially 6 days away...
My 38 MM SS BCB comes today. BUT The modern, soft pink unicorn leather with rainbow crystal/NASA fabric/Unobtanium buckle is the one I REALLY want. I'm desperately hoping that my Modern Buckle watch ships in the two week return window for the classic. My delivery window is May 13-27. Today is the 5th. That gets me to the 19th to return the classic. Wish there was a fingers crossed emoji!

I had a support chat with an apple customer service rep earlier to see if they would be able to shed any light on why no modern buckles have been shipped yet.
Alas the person I was talking to didn't have a clue that no modern buckles hadn't been shipped and claimed that it was "really odd" that this model hadn't shipped at all yet.
I'd be happy with waiting if apple explained why they are not being shipped yet

Leather Loop watches are waiting too. Well, my Leather Loop and wife's Modern Buckle 4/10 orders are waiting. The only consolation prize is we're both waiting.

My separate 42mm Black Sports band shipped yesterday (5/8) and the 38mm White Sports band was updated from May availability to 2-3 weeks; May 26 - June 1 for shipping. Those were ordered April 10 at 3:20 am ET.

I had noticed the "pick up in store" option for the modern buckle in the Apple Store and took it as a sign that perhaps they are close to shipping. I don't think it meant that there would be *stock* in store, but that the band order would be available to be shipped and picked up in the store.
That said, I went to check the page today and that option has been removed again. But maybe it still was a good sign....maybe....
