Any news on NYC Apple store lines?

other than 5th avenue, most of the stores have a few hard core people and my quick count on what I saw was about 30-50 people. Or it just looked that way. basically half a block's worth. Note for grand central they close the area so it gets messy. In the past people typically show up at 6am

I would expect a long line by 9am but that does not mean you wont get a phone. Just no one knows quantities in each of the color/size varieties.

Walked by the line at 645 tonight. Wasn't that long. 50-75 maybe? Hard to tell exactly but it was only 10-15 people deep along FAO. And it didn't look like they had people in the metal gates up top.

i dont think we'll see lines start to swell until 5-6am. I think there will be plenty of supply. Online ordering is pretty efficient these days.

I have no concept of how bad the line is on an iPhone launch day. If I show up at 5th avenue at like 7 AM tomorrow, do you think I can walk away with an iPhone? Also, how quickly do they hand out iPhones after they open at 8 AM? Trying to see if I can show up to work at 9 AM (which is close by)

Why not go to carrier stores? I haven't seen any lines at those in NYC yet.

I don't really trust them. Lots of reports of carriers not getting certain models. I'm looking for either 64gb white version.

I waited for a 3G. I think I showed up at 830 or 9. Took about 4 hours.
