I respect Steve Jobs....but really?

I'm also shocked to see other posts of people saying they "woke up crying" this morning from his passing.

Different things to different people. To some, he was a cult leader (in a negative sense). Westboro church agrees with this. To some, an inspiration, others a role model or symbol of what has or could have been.

Until this i didn't understand why people were saddened (so much) over the death of MJ or Lennon but now I kinda see where there coming from.

I went to gelaskins.com and customized this. Any thoughts on whether it looks good?

I'm not. I love Steve, but I'm also thinking of the resell value of it when the new iPhone comes out next year. I'm not sure if the person buying the phone wants something engraved on the back of it.

I'm not going to do anything to my iPhone. I think Steve would just be happy that so many people are using it. He wouldn't want people having his name/dob & dod on the phone.

Steve loved Apple. He worked with Apple until the very end, and guess what's on the back of the iPhone?

Yeah, part of me thinks the best way to remember the guy would be to use the phone naked, without a bumper :p

But I still think throwing "Think Different" on the back is a good commemorative thing as well.

Not as excited about the "1955-2011" thing.

To each their own, I guess. IMO, putting his name on it is a little creepy. I have as much respect for the man as the next person but that's a bit much. You're already holding his legacy in your hands.

But if it's the route you want to go, I think one of his inspirational quotes would be better. My personal favorite: "Stay hungry. Stay foolish."
