I bet most of people bought it to play games. Their primary reason to use iPad is for gaming, and they sometimes work with it since they have it. :)

I had no reason to buy an iPad other than that I wanted one. I still have my laptop and could def not give it up and use only the iPad.

For me it was an impulse buy lol
I thought about buying one, one day, watched some reviews online and decided to buy the next day
I guess if I think about it, i don't really NEED one but its much more convenient for twitter etc. because of the big screen

Bought mine for movies, music, reading, schoolwork, social networking, web browsing and of course gaming. Still not used to playing FPS on it though, kind of awkward, hopefully I get better at those eventually.

Good luck, i've given up on those games. Coming from the console world with a physical controller is pure punishment. I only play games that require minimal to no virtual joysticks on the screen and that have been designed to take advantage of a Tablets strengths.

Same with me, the thing I am mad about is that I spent $7 for MC3 because people said how great it was. It just feels completely different from playing Xbox.

Keep updating those free apps though, most of those are really good.

This is probably a no-brainer for many of you, although some people bought the iPad for a true mobile computing machine for work, school, etc. I'm wondering if you guys bought one even if you could justify not having one! Technology has gone crazy recently, and in new and highly innovative ways. I'm sure you techies had you interested in the iPad when it came out!

Well, you can't really do anything useful on an iPad. I got mine mostly for magazines, as I enjoy reading them. Light internet use too.

For me, I had a good 6 months to slowly research on what an ipad could do, what I might use it for, whether it would be worth my money, and if I really needed one. So it was definitely not done on a whim or for fun. :p

I early bought my imac last July, contemplated getting an ipad in September, but by the time I decided to commit to one, word on this forum was that the refresh would come out soon, and before I knew it, I held out all the way to this March.:)

Also, it didn't help that I also upgraded to a 4s in November, so I had pretty much blown my 'shiny toy' budget for that period. Basically, I just didn't want to buy too many gadgets at one go.
