Frank taking a nap, I don't even think it was thundering or anything, he just likes to sleep like this.

starting them both on a new food, they were on blue buffalo small breed puppy, i'm really happy they make a wilderness for small breeds now

we may have gone a little overboard at pet smart today, chicken jerky, yams, apples wrapped in chicken, mini rawhide bones for lilly, new elevated water dish for frank, a 14" rawhide bone for frank, a new bed for lilly, and i'm sure i'm missing a few things lol

Our dachshund, who unfortunately died this year at age 13, also like to sleep under blankets. We always figured that it was a consequence of dachshunds' breeding to chase burrowing animals like badgers.

I'm sorry for your loss :(

Yeah he does have a lot of dachshund traits, like trying to burrow into his bed or "his" couch(he's decided that the left upper pillow is his), but he doesn't like to sleep under the blankets when he's in bed with me. He's a unique individual, but he is very dachshund for sure.

And funny you said that about badgers, my girlfriend and I always joke that he's amazing a hunting badgers because we've yet to see one since we got him lol.

And as much as it kills me inside, I'm calling the vet in the morning to schedule his neutering :( which leads me to a question.

Pain killers: I've seen people with opinions that go both ways, some say not to so the pain keeps them from moving around a lot, but I don't know if I can do that to him. He's family(I actually would do more for him than I would for most of my actually family) and I don't want him to suffer any more than needed. I'd rather get him pain killers and keep him in his cage most of the time for a couple days, only letting him out to pee/poop. Is it really just a preference thing, or is one way vastly better than the other?
