FYI no iPhones in today's shipment. What a colossal waste of time. Plus couldn't order direct fulfill because they require a major cc (debit won't do). Is there any difference from ordering on ATT's website vs. direct fulfill in store or is it the same queue?

Came to take a look and see if shipments are happening...instead I get stuck with a troll....happy days.

Since not everyone is reporting problems I still went ahead and bought one as I wanted to stay with AT&T (GSM preference so I can try out all the cool unlocked phones out there). Unfortunately, I am having issues with my phone but am not going to exchange as almost everything else AT&T offers is crap right now.

Since I can't deal with the issue I just sold my iPhone4 on ebay so I can fund my cravings for unlocked Android phones. To my surprise AT&T changed my unlimited data plan to $15 one as I am currently using a temporary old candy bar phone. I thought $30 is mandatory plan as I got iPhone for discounted price.
The Samsung Galaxy S is coming to AT&T and T-Mobile (both are GSM). Its supposed to be a high end Android phone. But its not out yet, YMMV. AT&T will neuter it.

No.

Why would anyone buy a phone Apple admits is lousy at reception if you touch it.

Apple says... Return the phone!

Even better, if you haven't bought it... DO NOT BUY IT.

There are many competitors available now that are good and can be held and even make phone calls!

Dude, if YOU don't want one, then don't buy one. But seriously, all you haters need to stop posting on random threads voicing your frustrations that have nothing to do with the topic. Yes we get it, you are angry about the iPhone 4, so please go buy something else and be done with it. Nobody wants to read this stuff anymore!

Especially on random threads where it's off-topic.

sorry hung around the store for 3 hours and didn't get one. That sucks.

Thanks yeah I was pretty bummed to say the least. Especially when I come to find out that they couldn't even put me down for a direct fulfillment because I didn't have a major credit card on me (wouldn't accept debit).

So now I'm back to square one trying to decide whether to just wait on my Apple reservation or run back to AT&T with my American Express (which I really didn't want to use)... Or does anyone know whether ordering off the AT&T website is identical to direct fulfill orders placed in store?

Sorry for the luck, but you may wanna use that American Express and just pay it off. American Express gives you the free warranty on purchases. I purposely used mine to by the phone.

My local Best Buy got some in and I was lucky enough to snag one just walking in at like 1 PM no lines.

I guess its also a fashion statement. Hey everyone, look at me, proud to use my defective phone! I can't even read Apple's press release and understand they admit its broken and they won't fix it. Hey they're even going to show me fewer bars. That makes me feel great. Let me stand in the longest line too. Sign me up!

So, we have a new crusader to join broadband and the like. You guys should start a club.

Just don't get a massive toothache like I did when I was in line for 7 hours at the Apple Store on the 24th of June. I had to leave early and didn't get a phone that day (I have one now from Best Buy). I ended up calling the oral surgeon and getting an emergency appointment and having the tooth extracted that same day. It was really a horrible experience, but I feel better now. Sweltering Texas heat, all night with no sleep, and the worst toothache of my life, and I was forced to leave the line at 10:30am, I couldn't bear the pain anymore. It just wasn't worth it. At least I have my iPhone 4 now, a few days later, that is.
