One of my favorite albums, back in the seventies I managed a stereo store in Toronto, my friend and I would stay after work and listen to The Dark Side of the Moon through a big pair of JBL's driver by a McIntosh 300 watt per channel amp. Fantastic.
Considering Dark is one of the highest-selling albums of all time a lot. Floyd fans everywhere.
I liked the early Floyd with Syd![]()
Wasn't Syd out by the time the band went mainstream? They were really "Far Out" with Syd.![]()
This is for me, THE Pink Floyd album...

It's all because of "Dogs". I can't sing along that song enough.I'm going to have to ask you to step outside ...
While I'm in the WYWH camp as the best, Animals is so good, I put it in a tie for 2nd __with__ DSotM, and that second place is more like just not quite first, but clearly better than second![]()

If that song isn't the sad primer of modern life many need, I don't know what is.
Yeah, Meddle and WYWH. Dark Side is also great of course but an entirely different feel. The less said about The Wall, etc, the better.Yes. I am here to chew bubble gum and kick ass ... and I'm all out of bubble gum.
Anyway ...
WYWH is my favorite album (well, because it's the best ... FIGHT ME), it works better for me thematically, lyrically, musically, I find it's more of a cohesive whole, with some brilliant nuance to some of the writing, the conflict, the retrospection, etc., really speaks to me. I've also noticed a bit trend of people who got into Floyd early, love Meddle, tend to favor WYWH vs. people who's first experience was DSotM, particularly the "big singles".
