Meh. Personally this seems like a solution looking for a true problem, but I can see how it may attract others.

The video doesn't mention USBC though, just lightning and micro-USB. Also your Kickstater link 404's.

go click my original post instead of the link in the quote.

Yea no mention of USB-c and the lightning and micro-usb just shipped this month i think. If it goes well usb-c would follow. Their kickstarter is already funded. http://www.znaps.net/ if you want to order

Nice but almost too small and easily lost, just easier to buy the Belkin one and move on with your laptop protected now
It seems as though you're just supposed to leave the Lightning plug in all the time since it's so small. I like the idea of Znaps more than Griffin. But either way, I wouldn't buy either because I think it's a non issue; I plug in my USB-C rMB and my Lightning iPhone at night, and take both off the charger with me for a days work. Never worry about constant charging since both get such great battery life. Average for my 2 year old iPhone 6 is still 30-50% left, and my 2 month old MB varies between 40-60%. Phenomenal if you ask me. No chargers, no battery packs, no battery cases. But I pay attention to turning off iOS background junk (I don't use Facebook either) and quit heavier macOS applications when not using. I'm not rendering video or compiling large programs, but still, very efficient for moderate to slightly heavy use.

My other option would be to go back to Windows, perhaps something like a Dell XPS 13. I hear Windows 10 is going to have a full blown UNIX command line, which is one of the features I really enjoy on OS X.

It's really tempting to be honest.

I did for my on-the-go computer and so far am not regretting it. But I'll keep my 15" rMBP as my desktop replacement for most of my work

My on the go laptop is a cheap Chromebook, running Linux. Cost a quarter of the price of a MacBook Air even after I added a 128gb SSD. If I'm honest it does almost everything I need and even though Chromebook keyboards suck they are better the rMB!

I use a Mac mini for my workstation and an iPad mini as my tablet. Sure, I could consolidate everything into a couple of Apple devices but I do like the flexibility that what I have offers and part of me is reluctant to lock myself in.

My needs are great in terms of resources. Writing, photos, web and Python development and the usual email and Internet.
