The N64 is the only system I can't find a good emulator with rumble support works for dual shock 4.

I managed to get rumble from almost all other consoles like Gamecube, PSX and PS2.

I’ve got, or had, a working N64, that the last time I hooked it up to a large TV screen looked so horrible, I put it away, and may have tossed it. I’d have to go and check if I still have it. 😳 What kind of monitor do you use with it?

I forgot about the rumble pack. IIRC, not a lot of N64 games supported it, maybe that is why it is hard to find a N64 emulator with rumble.

I still have one rumble pack, and the only game I remember using it was one or both of the N64 Zelda games. Maybe it was more widely used, and I am just forgetting.

Yeah, my experience as well. A few years back, I wanted to replay Goldeneye 64, connected my N64 to my modern 4k TV, but it was so bad looking, made it unplayable.

I keep two old tube TVs for this reason, but they are sitting in my basement. One day, I plan on having a media room dedicated to old systems (NES, SNES, N64, GC, Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast) where my tube TVs will finally be used.

Someone told me that there are some remastered Goldeneye 64 games for modern systems, but I stopped buying consoles ten years ago. I can't stand buying unfinished games with glitches and bugs that need to be fixed with updates, and DLC that is no longer able to be downloaded because the online stores shut down.

What console did you last buy? GoldenEye 64 is available for the 11 year old Xbox One if you get the digital copy of Rare Replay alongside Banjo Kazooie 1 & 2, Conker's Bad Fur Day and others.

If you are really serious about N64, maybe check out the Analogue 3D? It's a FPGA clone console of the N64 with 4K upscaling and Bluetooth controller support (you can still use wired controllers).

Did anyone try mupen64plus ?

I tried to run it by the terminal but I always get an error.

Can someone explain how it works ?

I saw some YouTube videos but they are old and doesn't works with current version.

I typically go here for information: https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page

For N64 specifically it looks like ares is the top recommendation: https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Nintendo_64_emulators

Still, for Mupen it looks like it should support rumble. So the problem may not be the emulator.

Depending on the interface you use to hook up a controller, that may be the issue. Granted, it’s not N64, but GameCube, I had to install a patch to get my GameCube controllers to work correctly with Dolphin.

Emulation has come a long way, but still requires tinkering sometimes. Good luck!

What game do you want to play anyways? Not every game on N64 supports rumble. English Super Mario 64 doesn't for example.

I do have a library of games, I have build a huge library on openemu, lol.

It's really nice and feels nostalgic when I see them on openemu library, all of them with their game covers, Including almost all systems from NES era to gamecube era (pax, pap, gba)
