How are folks hitting these things with keys and knives with NO scratches, but normal daily wear is scratching them?

I'm really confused how Applecare+ is a solution at all. It's $49 for the plan and $69 for the deductible. That's $118... for a scratch?

There aren't many things that can scratch the Ion-X glass. Unfortunately, the things that can scratch it are relatively common (i.e. concrete, asphalt, and brick contain some elements harder than a MOHS 7).

I would have really liked a Sport+sapphire model.

None yet. Had it for 8 days now, not a scratch or mark on it. 42mm Sport Space Gray.

Been having it since day one and been wearing it every day. I have a green sport band. Dying to get my SS one in June so that I can get rid of this. I hope that one is not easily scratched as well.

SS 42mm here no scratches on the screen but definitely developing some scuff marks on the SS part. I'm going with the whole "gives it character" vibe.

I've got the 38mm SS, no scratches on the screen but definitely some minor scratches on the case. I've been babying it so not sure whats been scratching it. As long as the sapphire doesn't scratch I'm happy.

I am sorry, but watches are meant to be scratched..... a mark gives more character to the watch ;)...

There will be LOTS of character in the weeks and months to come. Anything you wear takes a beating. The is no magic here, no matter how careful you are there is a door casing or stucco wall waiting for our new watch to crash into!
