If not a dev will figure it out when native Apps come out perhaps. Due to the limitations devs are gonna get creative (within reason of the App Store review team :( )

If Apple watch does not transmit data over wifi alone, that's a hardware limitation, so most likely not something that can be worked around by software.

Hopefully we're left with more answers than new questions on Monday. Generally there's lots of unanswered questions :(

It wouldn't be the Watch alone pushing the need for Bluetooth, the iPhone users want it too, Watch or no Watch.

I'd get it, and use it for both. Actually, I'd pair it with the iPhone, stream the music from the iPhone, but control it from the Watch.

Personally, I rather not go for long jogs or hikes around the lake without a way to make an emergency call, so I'll be carrying my iPhone no matter what (in my CamelBak).

People have had mixed results with Bluetooth, especially with sound quality, so I suspect Apple may have avoided it for that reason, but now with Beats, and with most iPhones now having the improved Bluetooth each, Apple may be ready to launch - and the Watch would provide good timing - but it's certainly not limited to the Watch. I'd be using it for all my devices.

I have a feeling I'll be getting the Jaybird Bluebud X though. They are really good. They are sweat proof, super light, stay in the ears, comfy, strong pairing, perfect - with a price to match - $125. Ouch, but I rather that then get crap for $70.

I'm having a hard time imagining a situation where you have a non-bluetooth AirPlay speaker but the Watch is the only source of your music.

I agree but my question was not why would you want to but will it be possible?

As much as I want to see an Apple/Beats bluetooth headphone set i just don't think it is going to happen. If it did this would probably be the first time i ever think of buying a set of beats.

I think it's likely that Apple will release a bluetooth version of their Earpods with Watch. Being a music player and the strong advertising as a fitness accessory, it seems high unlikely that Apple will rely on third parties to provide this key functionality.

The more interesting question is how will they do this, as bluetooth earphones have been exercises in compromise thus far.

Will they make the earpieces themselves larger to house the bluetooth modules and battery, or will they house the bluetooth modules and battery somewhere else like along with wire.

Alternatively to all this ofcourse, is that could simply heavily promote the Beats bluetooth headphones.

I just pray Apple don't move to in-ear, but the Beats acquisition isn't really a good sign that they won't. I really hate in-ear so I'll just stock up on the EarPods if they do.

I doubt it, but since it have to make/receive phone calls then it wouldn't surprise me if they do include it. I have been looking at Beats PowerBeats2 Wireless In-Ear Headphones, and although they seem a bit pricey I like the look of them. Have anyone tried them?

Still holding till Monday and see if hopefully Apple would announce some cheaper alternative to that.

I just got my PowerBeats2 from Best Buy about a month ago, and I love them. Good quality sound, and good fit for my ears

You must have a different definition of "in-ear" than I do, because to me, the EarPods are in-ear.

In-ear.

Also in-ear, but with over-the-ear hook for stability.

This is mostly over-the-ear hook, with hardly any part of the earphone sticking inside your ear.

Agreed! Maybe it's brink of ear to him lol. :p

Yeah, I mean the ones that have to like suction their way into your ear drums lol.

http://images.esellerpro.com/2477/I/669/478/lrgscale1.jpg Things like this are actually painful to me. The EarPods are "in ear" but I don't mind them just sort of sitting there chillin.

Thanks for the input. Have you tried them watching a video on a tablet or a phone? I have read some reviews that video and sound are not on sync, there is a second or so delay on the sound. I will use them mainly to listen to music but occasionally I watch Netflix on my iPad.

Beats released a firmware update that fixed this issue.

I had jaybirds and while they sounded amazing, they just couldn't fit my ears. I returned them and later bought the Powerbeats2 wireless and they sound just as good and thankfully fit great. Hight recommend these if you're looking for Bluetooth with great sound quality and fit. Have logged in over 300 miles now and still going strong.
