One of my biggest gripes with the watch is that I have to dig for the total steps. One of the main reasons I have the watch is for fitness. Is there anyway to have the total steps displayed on the main display? I've tried pedometer apps, and some allow you to have the steps on your main display, but they do not update live - you still have to launch the app to refresh the total steps.

I wish Apple would fix this. Thanks for any suggestions!

There's a watch face for steps coming with 3.0 update in September

There are third party apps that have complications for steps taken. One is Pedometer. They work well but they will be off by about 10+ minutes since you cannot update whenever you want.

The example above isn't steps - just calories and exercise minutes and stand

Developers should file an ER for a steps Complication. While steps (the 10,000 number anyway) has always been more about selling pedometers than the panacea of health metrics, it would still be nice to have the option as a Complication.

Totally agree, I would prefer live steps option. Instead of Apple health circles, more simple like Fitbit.
