I did, the 12.9 was just too big to carry around and pull out all day. It was nice at home or at work on the computer with Astropad, but everything else it was too big. I actually had one that had the screen crack just from holding it, that's a big piece of glass. Apple replaced it and I sold it and got the 9.7 the next day. I wish they had a 10.5 or 11 instead. The 9.7 is compact after using the behemoth for 6 months, but I'm able to use it more easily.

Well it's really difficult to answer this question, it really depends by you.

Personally, I would go crazy with so many devices, I'm definitely the one that prefers a minimalistic approach. But this is just me, based on my job, usage patterns, etc. I'm working on some personal projects along with my job, so I need a laptop that it's just to cumbersome to be used while I commute 1.30 hours a day, so in this scenario the 6s plus fits perfectly. And again I have an iPad Air that I'm not using anymore 'cause of the 6s plus.
If I wouldn't need a laptop to work on my business and projects, I'll definitely go for an iPhone 7 and iPad Pro, it's the perfect "consuming media" combo for me with extreme portability, especially now that the iP7 camera has OIS... one of the main reasons why I've chosen the plus version 2 years ago, even if the big size really bothers me especially when I put it in my pockets.

But again, that's me, I think none can predict if you'll lose interest... lots of people that switched to the 7 plus reported to have used their ipad much less tho.
I have an Ipad 2 air standing here, it's new, it had bought for his wife, but she ended up preferring a laptop, I'm selling my almost Ipad Pro 9.7 for $ 550 and up with Air 2 I paid $ 280.
My use only surf the internet, Youtube and stream

could someone tell how is the IOS 10 in the air Ipad 2

got to admit using my 12.9 and going to the 9.7 pro that my girlfriend has is weird but realize it is very comfortable to use due to how, portable it is

Anybody had the 12.9 but got the 9.7 instead?

"Instead of" - no. "In addition to" - yes.

The 12.9 Pro is an amazing device and I LOVE it (bought it on release day). When the 9.7" came out - I wanted one instantly. I didn't buy one right away, but I did end up supplementing the 12.9 with the 9.7. I still use the 12.9 at home and if I'm purposefully going somewhere to draw, but for day-to-day, the 9.7 Pro is with me.

I'd say they get a pretty even amount of use.

So you have use for both. I did think about getting the 9.7 but feel I wouldn't use one if I did that.

Do enjoy using my girlfriends 9.7 pro though when I do miss that size

Yep - that was a fear / consideration - which is why I waited so long. I had an old iPad Air that I tried using with a fine point stylus, but it just wasn't cutting mustard (don't ask why I was trying to cut mustard with an iPad...).

I think if I was to get both my 12.9 would be for watching sport/TV shows and general forum posting like now on my keyboard while the 9.7 would be what to use before bed or when I wake up on my days off as I browse. I also would take my 9.7 away with me on trips Hoilday's and weekends away for example

So maybe I would have a use for both hmmmm

Going from 12.9 to 9.7 for me it is an upgrade. Better display on 9.7 is all I need! The 12.9 iPad is cumbersome and it is out of place as it doesnt replace a tablet on the fly nor does not replace a laptop. At least the 9.7 is an excellent tablet!

since my 12.9 i vowed i'd never downsize again. no way !

but, i'm finding my Pro is desk bound and duty prone. for me it is 'Pro', meaning i'm missing something when i'm out and about and have down time. So instead of a regular sized ipad, which i never felt wonderfully comfortable with, i've decided on my first mini (be that a mini 4 or 5, dont know yet) for out and about activities, holidays, photoshoots, surveys, client coffee meets etc etc.

I find it sooo odd that fully grown males find the 12.9 too large to carry around. Has nobody ever carried their laptop in a messenger bag? I am a 5'2" tall girl and find the 12.9 is much easier to carry and hold then a laptop! Especially with the silicone case and cover because of the grip. It's slimmer and lighter than a laptop and I just throw it in a tote bag. Of course I know most guys want to avoid the man purse thing now days lol so the poor messenger bag / laptop bags are out of style haha.
You know in China men carry actual brand name purses like Louis Vuitton etc? As status symbols! But the practicality behind it is being able to throw your tablet or laptop in it!
I have had my iPad Pro 12.9 out at Starbucks along with the Bluetooth apple wireless keyboard which makes it look like a small iMac and have had many people ask what is it how can I get this! Mainly due to the screen real estate! Everyone has smaller iPads and they just don't look so brilliant set up as a mini desktop or laptop replacement.

I love the split screen with actual full versions of the apps instead of the mobile versions.

I initially went from the 12" Pro to the 9.7" Pro, and I immediately noticed the speed difference, as well as the resolution. On the 12" Pro, pages load almost instantly and the amount of content you get is vastly more than what shows up on the 9.7. I think because the 9.7 has the same resolution as any old iPad, many sites automatically detect it and put you into a mobile type of layout. With the 12" Pro, sites always display in full.

A good example of what I'm talking about specifically is www.hearthpwn.com. On a 9.7, this site takes a long time to load, and only gives you one row at the top. On the 12", it's instant and gives you the full layout. Also scrolling through any page where there are lots of embedded videos is laggy and choppy on the 9.7, and completely fine on the 12. I believe it's a combination of the faster clocked CPU and possibly moreso the 4GB RAM.
