I haven't had anyone show a dislike for my iPhone, but I don't try to show it off whenever possible. If anyone did express dislike - hey, everyone has their own opinions and tastes.

Being a usability specialist, I would pay attention to what they did not like about the experience.

lol the only reason i get that they dont like it is because everyone has it. Im in canada so our networks (rogers and fido) promote the iPhone with a contract plus 200 or 300 (16GB). Yea no so hard to get them here...but im sure they are in other countries.

but in function wise-->no one can complain its ability :p

I believe 99% people act that way since they cant get their hands on one or to tease you if you're a fan boy kid. And 0.99% dont appreciate technology: they're fine with a 10 year old moto/nokia.

The rest seriously dont like the phone and they certainly are entitled to choose what they like!

I almost take it as a personal attack!!! I get all defensive on the iphone's behalf and show off all of the cool features and ask how they don't like it!

Haha, I was just wondering if anyone else experiences this

Its Xmas dude, go and give to the needy and stope treating your phone as if it were alive. Geez.

The only people I know who don't like the iPhone are the ones who have a closer phone to it. It's funny because I have a friend who made fun of my iPhone so much and he had a sidekick. He got an iPhone 3G and comes to me when there is a cool game or update. Thanks to me 4 of my friends have gotten iPhone 3g's.

i got insulted when i first got one.

"why did you get that brick."
"no mms how crap."
"why would i always want my email"

now they are all getting an iphone.

suckers

Um, no. I buy things for me, not to show off to others nor do I care what they think of my purchases.

Insulted? Of course not! I totally understand their feelings.

I have slashed their tires and set fire to a few front porches, but that's to be expected, I would think.

And before you ask, YES I have returned each and every cat, un-harmed, once they've retracted their horrible, horrible lies.

Nah i meet a lot of people who insult me and my iPhone plus my desision to go mac, in my class everyone besides me uses Windows and pretty much hate the iPhone. But i always laugh when they have problems with there computers and Sony Ericsson/Nokia phones ;)

I can honestly say that everyone that I know, that has seen my iPhone has been amazed by what it can do. For most of my friends it was their first hands-on with it, so of course they were impressed. The only one of my friends that has a smartphone has a BB Curve, so I guess it's easy to understand being blown away by the iPhone...

Most of the people I talk to who don't like the iPhone actually heard complaints from early 3G users who had a multitude of network problems/dropped calls and bugs. That was all true, even though much of it has been corrected by software updates.

Now the problem is that in NY at least so many people have iPhones that its kinda like owning something from the gap. Sure, it might fit and look great but when 20 other people have them out on the subway how cool is it really?

If they didn't like it, I wouldn't feel any animosity. Why would I? It's an inanimate object.

No one has said to me that they don't like it though--Usually, if anything, they comment about how expensive it is.

Not to be a dick but, are you 10 years old?

They insult your phone, your laugh, and go about your business.

It's not your mother they are insulting

Not at all...

In fact I have a rule that none of my friends are allowed to call it an iPhone, they have to add something else on the end like, "iLame" " iCrap" etc.

I took a chance on this phone and honestly it's not all it's cracked up to be. I have had many problems with it from the start, the plans offered are junk, the replacement rules/cost is ridiculous, and the phone doesn't have some of the features needed to make it a realistic solution for business (it's a toy).

Here is a little secret just for you guys on the forum. I actually printed out that "no smoking" red circle and stuck it over the apple logo on the phone...just to remind people not everyone loves Steve Mobbs and his overpriced technology.

So no, I don't get insulted because more times than not I agree with them, and I have yet to see one phone that doesn't do what the iPhone does.

He didn't elaborate, so perhaps we are being too harsh on the OP with comments like "What are you a ten year old?" I don't go postal on people who dislike the iPhone, or yell at people when they like a different phone, but there can be times when people get annoying. It doesn't matter if it's an iPhone or whatever, there comes a point when people making dumb jokes and comments every five minutes gets annoying. It's a purchase, and it's my choice, so I really don't need to hear about it every five seconds. I think the "what are you, ten?" comments would be better directed to the people who are doing the childish insults. It's not any different than when people pick on kids in high school because they dress differently, or whatever else people decide to talk about; it gets to you over time.
