all my friends LOVE mine, use it for GPS when lost, YouTube for entertainment, take pictures, video, they LOVE iBeer haha, everything and when they're bored I let them play the games on it.

My little brother constantly teases me about MMS and Copy/Paste, but whatever.

How old is your brother? Six?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - but teasing or insulting someone because of the phone they have only makes you look stupid in the end. On the other hand, it's just a phone so who cares. If you are actually hurt by someone because they don't like your phone you must have a pretty fragile ego.

I agree. If you want to tease someone, tease them about the computer they own. :D

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5G77 Safari/525.20)

Yeah I do kind of get insulted... But people have their own tastes.

So no, I don't get insulted because more times than not I agree with them, and I have yet to see one phone that doesn't do what the iPhone does.

My phone doesn't have touch screen....wifi web browsing... youtube... an ipod... app store... there's more,
is my phone really the only one that doesn't do what the iphone does? :p

(I know you were exaggerating)
But why are you hating on your phone so much? Iphone is one of the top sellers these days. :apple:

Not at all...

In fact I have a rule that none of my friends are allowed to call it an iPhone, they have to add something else on the end like, "iLame" " iCrap" etc.

I took a chance on this phone and honestly it's not all it's cracked up to be. I have had many problems with it from the start, the plans offered are junk, the replacement rules/cost is ridiculous, and the phone doesn't have some of the features needed to make it a realistic solution for business (it's a toy).

Here is a little secret just for you guys on the forum. I actually printed out that "no smoking" red circle and stuck it over the apple logo on the phone...just to remind people not everyone loves Steve Mobbs and his overpriced technology.

So no, I don't get insulted because more times than not I agree with them, and I have yet to see one phone that doesn't do what the iPhone does.

So, if you're that disappointed, why do you still have it? If I hated something that much, I wouldn't be in a forum dedicated to the object...I'd be focusing on something I liked, much less still owning that object. Or are you trying to make a statement or something? I don't get it.

lol the only reason i get that they dont like it is because everyone has it. Im in canada so our networks (rogers and fido) promote the iPhone with a contract plus 200 or 300 (16GB). Yea no so hard to get them here...but im sure they are in other countries.

but in function wise-->no one can complain its ability :p

Actually, it's the lack of ability that makes it fall flat on it's face.

The UI is nice, and besides the glitter (chrome) it's a fairly nice design.

I believe 99% people act that way since they cant get their hands on one or to tease you if you're a fan boy kid. And 0.99% dont appreciate technology: they're fine with a 10 year old moto/nokia.

The rest seriously dont like the phone and they certainly are entitled to choose what they like!

98.7 of all statistics are pulled out the arse in an effort to lend credibility to something that has none.

The only people I know who don't like the iPhone are the ones who have a closer phone to it. It's funny because I have a friend who made fun of my iPhone so much and he had a sidekick. He got an iPhone 3G and comes to me when there is a cool game or update. Thanks to me 4 of my friends have gotten iPhone 3g's.

I have two phones: A nokia something (IDK - it's a work-gsm, with excellent battery time – used solely for real phone calls) and a Sammy i780. So now you know someone who doesn't like the iPhone, doesn't play or use hundreds of calculators, but prefer a tool.
Did I mention I also have and use a dedicated PDA? It's an Ipaq 214?

i got insulted when i first got one.

"why did you get that brick."
"no mms how crap."
"why would i always want my email"

now they are all getting an iphone.

suckers

I dont get mad because i always look at what phone they have and lets just say i always have the last laugh

Yup, it's always fun to laugh while watching youtube. Many of us actually care about productivity.

One thing, though: I really don't get that someone will get personally insulted by someone not liking their phone. I guess that's the real reason for me getting timeouts on this forum: The apologists are so into the RDF that they think I'm insulting them personally.

Why would I get mad.
They gave me crap and I took it.
Lets see what have I used my iphone at work
1. of course calling someone
2. texting
3. retrieving email to get important specs saving a number of long walks and increasing productivity
4. flashlight when we didnt think we would need one
5. snapping a picture of a part number impossible to see without removing the part
6. convert varios units
7. look up something on the web instead of walking back to the office
8. watchin videos while waiting on tools
and so on.

Now I get do you have your iphone?

For crazylegs.
Sell the iphone. With the money you get for the phone you will be able to pay the ETF and pick another phone at no or little cost. No use having your friends put up with such an inferior phone.

It does suck when people talk bad about things you own but I just ignore it. Even when they need to use the phone because their cheap sh*t phone doesnt work as good.

Nah. It's an inanimate object and a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. If a better tool comes out I will purchase it when the time arises. Until then this one works for me, for the most part, but jailbreak may may it work for the whole part.

My God.... then how BIG is your Arse when I specifically said "I believe" in an effort to lend a clue to humongous arse people like you that this thread has no point at all!

The joke is on the persons phone when there features fail on them :D or lack of features  but basically i dont give a flying hoot my purchase and not the other persons

But why are you hating on your phone so much? Iphone is one of the top sellers these days.

Argumentum ad populum

So, if you're that disappointed, why do you still have it? If I hated something that much, I wouldn't be in a forum dedicated to the object...I'd be focusing on something I liked, much less still owning that object. Or are you trying to make a statement or something? I don't get it.

The truth is, it's honestly more trouble than it's worth to go through the whole process of selling the phone, then buying a new one. Cell phone companies don't exactly make this an easy process and for the most part users find themselves over a barrel when it comes to freedom of choice.

I'm on this forum because I'm basically considering myself "stuck" with the phone for the next three years so I may as well take as much advantage of it as possible.

Personally, I took a chance on Apple with the iPhone as it's my first Apple product and based on my experience it will be my last. I enjoy using products that simply work, and don't need constant attention. I used to have a Creative Zen MP3 player and it lasted 3 years before I sold it...I never thought about it when I carried it around, and it always worked.

My iPhone however, it's like carrying around a rare bird egg in my pocket, and I constantly find that it works fine when I'm sitting at home on my WiFi with all the time in the world, but the second I try and use it for a real world application it seems to fail me a large percentage of the time.

What bothers me even more is all my friends and family own Blackberry's (which I discounted buying into the Apple Hype) and not one of them has had any issues, they work when they need them too, and they can treat them like cellphones.

guys it's a phone

get over yourself

thats it right there.
i used to care for some reason.
now its quite obvious to me.... its just a piece of almost instantaneously superseded metal and plastic.

besides,
keep up with the times people.
its Omnias, Diamonds, Xperias and N97's now.
pfft iPhone

- hurries to pre pre order 2009 release of iPhone -

I almost take it as a personal attack!!! I get all defensive on the iphone's behalf and show off all of the cool features and ask how they don't like it!

Haha, I was just wondering if anyone else experiences this

i bought my iphone for me, not my friends, so if they don't like it its fine. they don't use it so whats the big deal? for me it does what i want well enough and has the added bonus of the apps store. plus to me the iphone isn't a status thing. i don't flash it around like "look at me, i have an iphone, i'm so cool". i mean it's just a phone... right...?

I mostly get negative feedback from people with Blackberrys or people obsessed with Verizon. After using it the Blackberry users are almost always impressed, and when I get better service where I live (Richmond, VA) with AT&T than they do with Verizon they shut their trap.

However, I never make it a point to show them up or prove them wrong.

Well, using statistics is still a way to lend credibility to something, even if it's just your "belief".
The notion that you now put forth really doesn't sit well with your original post. You're basically saying that in order to show people that this thread had no point at all, you made up apologetic statistics to "prove" your "beliefs" and preempt any and all arguments against the iPhone made from any front and from anyone. Yes, that sure is a logical way of going about saying this thread is pointless.

When a person quotes statistics like "99 + .99 + .01" then the person obviously doesnt mean anyone to take these statistics seriously since these are almost always impossible and its already assumed that the op is trying to "IMPRESS" upon someone certain thoughts. Sorry for using such tone before but it seemed ridiculous that anyone takes quotes like "99.99 + .01" seriously!

Noone took the actual percentages seriously, but they were used to lend credit to some extraordinarily ridiculous assertions.

This is similar to my situation. Most of my friends come around bragging about their latest blackberry and by the time I show them the capabilities of my iphone and some of the apps, they are wondering how to get out of their contract so they can switch to an iphone.

This phone ROCKS (for the most part). ;)
