With the 8mp camera, HD video, some apps like Fifa taking up more and more space each year is 16GB getting too small?
64GB was a bit pricey for me.

This is my first iPhone, but I went with the 32Gb model. I figured with the 8MP camera and HD video it wouldn't take long to fill up 16GB.

I have 16 as well and it definitely works for me. I only keep pics and apps on my phone. I have an iPod for music and plus I have Pandora, TuneIn, and Iheartradio apps on my phone for music. Rarely do any videos. That reminds me to grab a HD cam for Christmas.

  • If you plan to watch movies on your iPhone, then 16gb is probably too small.
  • If you have a large music collection and for some reason you want all of it on your phone at all times, then 16gb is probably too small.
  • If you're using the video recorder differently than most people (who take ~60 second clips at a time) then 16gb is probably too small.
  • If you never want to sync/manage your phone to move video and photos off the device then 16GB may be too small.

With all of that said, I think 16gb is perfect. I use smart playlists and keep only the ~1,000 songs that I would ever realistically want access to. I never watch movies on the thing. I do take a ton of pics and video, but the videos are generally only like 30-60 seconds each, and the photos really don't accumulate much space. Every few months I clean it all up. I have tons of apps, but only a couple of them are significantly large.

Yes. That's why I decided to go big or go home.

64GB :apple:

Yep same here, one can ever have enough memory.

I've been struggling for the past year on my 16G 3GS with managing memory.

Ive been restricted on shooting video due to space concerns, I also like to keep a lot of pics etc on my phone to show to family and friends.
My Navigon nav app also takes up a good deal of space, but it's a must have app for me...

64G is expensive, but I'm glad we have this option now on the 4S...

I really want to upgrade to the 64 but I'd have to return my 32 by next Tuesday to do so and so far none of the stores have 64 whites in stock when I check the reservations each night.

Also, the thought of getting the phone set up exactly as I like it again is daunting so I may just end up staying with 32.

Hindsight is always 20/20... should have gone with my first instinct. I urge you to go with yours.

I know I'll video record a lot but besides that 16GB is alright for me. £100 more for an extra 16GB is ridiculous I think.

i have a 32gb

i was worried about that being too small
but with dropbox and having all my music in the cloud and not needing it to be local its going to be plenty of space

i agree that the HD videos take up A LOT of space.
