I'll be getting a mini retina but in a couple of months. I've always been nervous about throwing my iPad around, it's more of a home/travel thing for me. I have an iPhone but would really like having a mini at my disposal throughout the day.

I'll get one of those defender cases for it and just hope it goes alright.

After much deliberation, Ive decided the mini must go back to the Apple Store....i think.

Couldn't believe the killer deal GameStop offered on my iPad3 32GB AT&T along with my extra iP5 so yes, when it is available I'll be adding the iPad Mini to my current iPad Air (AT&T 32GB) for the reasons described.

I used to use the full size iPad4 in bed and the mini out with me. I bought the iPad Air, and was very impressed. I am still thinking if I need an iPad retina mini. I find the air just as light as the old mini. I am going to buy the mini with cellular.

what killer deal, u probably got ripped off

I had an iPad 3, sold it and bought the 32gb wifi Air, which is perfect and I love it.

Have the Mini. It's my reader and out and about tablet. I've ordered the Mini Retina and will compare the two. If the Mini Retina is superior, I will keep it and gift the original mini to family. If not, back it goes.

I absolutely use both iPads and am grateful to have both!

I am. Got the 64 GB iPad Air (Wifi) and and getting a retina iPad mini (torn between cellular and no cellular). I have free hotspot on my phone, so can always connect, but the whole gps thing which I don't even know is a real issue or not.

I have had the LTE version of every iPad except the Air, and never used the cellular. Not once. Always just used my phones hotspot which is LTE. So can't justify getting it, but really want it for some strange reason. Gotta get the wife on board with cellular. She thinks it's a complete waste with hotspot.

I know what you mean. My first iPad was cellular with AT&T and I just thought it was cool because it had the option. I used it some on trips. Like you I have a hotspot on my phone which is Verizon, but am considering getting one with AT&T cellular so I have a backup carrier if Internet is out and the GPS option.

I got both. The Air is used for documents (this is a lot), and light web browsing, while the retina mini is used for documents when I'm away from my desk, work music, and on the go stuff.

My iPhone has all my music and used for, get this, phone calls.

I also develop some iOS apps, so I need various hardware configurations as well, and the jump to 64 bit was needed. So I don't really like to update my firmwares too much on my devices. So I have an iPad 3 with iOS 5, a mini with iOS 6, an Air with 7.0 and now a retina mini with 7.0.

(I also have a 4S with 6.0, and a 5S with 7.0)

(yes I had an iPhone 5, but I gave it to a family member in need)

(not to mention what work provides, an additional iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, yes I'm literally a walking store)

Right now I have the iPad 3 and the first-generation iPad Mini. There's a new iPad Air winging its way towards me from China even as I type, and probably in a few weeks I'll also get the iPad Mini with Retina screen. I use both devices around home and carry the iPad Mini when I'm leaving the house, so the idea of a new iPad Mini with Retina excites me and the idea of a lighter, yet larger iPad also excites me. My bank account is not excited. LOL!

I've got same as you! Can't justify it but what the hey? Love both.

I had both the iPad 4 and the iPad mini. I just got the iPad air and I just ordered the iPad mini. Will use the Mini for home and the iPad air for work and traveling.
Gave the iPad to my daughter and the iPad mini will go to our church for someone deserving.
Sometimes you just have to spoil yourself.

Bought the air online on the 3rd of November, 128gb space grey. I was convinced that the mini being retina and the full size being lighter that I 'd be able to cut down from 2 iPads to just the one.
however... I just want both! The 32gb silver mini would be such a nice e-reader and be great for on the go productivity.
