Also don't forget multitasking split screen.

I also use my mini onsite lots and I am often talking on phone with support people while I need to reference stuff so having two devices is great. Also even thought the 6splus screen is big it's not as good for reading technical manuals on it vs the bigger iPad mini.

There was promise when plus came out for third parties to support larger screen but that hasn't taken off as much. Many apps are just a bigger zoomed in version. Apps work much nicer on iPad in many cases.

I personally wouldn't get both devices. The mini fits in a suit jacket pocket which for me makes it effectively nearly as portable as a phone. Since I take my mini everywhere, I prefer a smaller less obtrusive phone since I'd rather use the mini for anything where screen size makes a difference. On the other hand the 6+ wouldn't be a satisfying replacement for the mini for what I do, especially for reading PDFs. But that's just me.

The thing about the iPhone 6 Plus is that still most of my apps used on iPads aren't available for iPhone. Magazines for instance. Vanity Fair has an iPhone app, Vogue doesn't. And the list goes on. Until I am able to get all iPad apps on a 6 Pkus, I don't see the benefit in carrying such a large phone. This, I carry a mini instead and a smaller sized iPhone.

I replaced my original Mini with the Mini 4. Absolutely gorgeous screen and so fast. I have a 6s (which is the best iPhone I've ever had), iPad Air2 and a MacBook Pro. My Mini is my on the go device, it is also my at home reader. The Air I use for most everything else, at home. The MacBook is for work. It is probably device overkill to many people, but I have a specific use for each and I'm very happy :)

I have a 6+ and a mini 4 on the way to replace my current mini 2. I find the form factor of the mini perfect for gaming. I like that I can hold it comfortably for hours while I level up in Hearthstone each month. I can play Hearthstone on the 6+, but it is a much better experience on the mini. My wife has an air and although I like it a lot, I still prefer the comfort and portability of the mini.

Yes, you're right. The Mini really is the perfect form factor for tablet games. So comfortable.

I have a bunch of devices, including a Note 4 (my daily phone), a Mini 4, and an Air 2. I got the Air 2 64gb super cheap about 6 months ago ($250 thanks to a store promotion), and at the time didn't intend to buy an iPad but couldn't resist the price and was missing iOS. Now I bought a Mini 4 because I've been lusting for a small tablet since buying a Note 8 for my wife a while back, but really wanted iOS, and have been waiting for Apple to finally put a good screen in the Mini. While the Air 2 is arguably still superior in most respects, the Mini 4 is just so damn comfortable in use. I thought I'd end up returning it, and am struggling on which one to keep, or to just keep both (my wife says just keep both, hehe). I do love my gadgets...

This is where I'm at now. I have come to dislike my phablet (Note 4) for its size and weight. My next phone will be a ~5 inch model. I ended up not really using it like a tablet at all. Now, my eyes are bad at close distances, so I figured a big screen would be good, but for what I actually do on my phone, I think ~5 inches would be just fine.

Good wife; also, smart! Just keep both! We did that and having both around is great; they serve different purposes, with different comfort factors, and use profiles! Oh, drat! That's such convoluted prose. They're fun in different ways at different times in different parts of the house!

One thing worth noting... the Mini's screen is nearly 2 ½ times as big as the iPhone 6+!! (2.31x) Cats of a different color and size!

Just picked up my iPad mini 4. Finally a good screen. I've had both mini 2 and mini 3 and the screen quality of those was just horrible. Uneven Tint. This one was worth the upgrade.

It would be pointless if the 6 plus actually was a small iPad, but developers have completely pissed over it and are treating it like a big iPhone.

So no, it's not pointless having both. In fact, I'm getting an iPad mini 4 because the 6 plus failed to fill in the gap between desktop and phone for me.

I agree with this, there is almost no distinction between the iPhone 6 and 6+ in terms of app support, but I never expected there to be.

When the 6+ was announced, this forum lit up with the prospect of bringing iPad functionality to the iPhone, but I never understood that. It's only 0.8" larger with a 16:9 aspect ratio. I never expected developers to do much with it.

Well I got the iPhone 6s Plus and, while I'd love to get the Mini 4, I'll be buying a Pro and can't (unfortunately) justify two tablet purchases this year.

I purchased a iPhone 6s Plus and a iPad Mini 4. The iPhone will always be phone no matter the size. The iPad Mini is a more portable iPad. Split view , PiP and 8 inches of view makes th iPad better for media consumption.

I have a 6S, an Air 2, and I would like to eventually get a 6S Plus (had the 6 Plus last year), a Mini 4 because I never had a Mini before, on the fence about the Pro, and I would also like a Nexus 6 to complement my aging Nexus 7.

I don't need all of this stuff, but it's all really cool to me. My advice is if you can buy it, get what you also find cool.

Same here. The two supplement each other perfectly for my wants and needs.

@The Game 161 Not really relevant, but how are you finding your iPad/iPhone combo compared with the iPad/Galaxy combo? I'm getting an Edge+ in a week, I have an Air 2 and want to have the best of both worlds.

That annoys me as well. Developers have missed a perfectly good opportunity. One of the iPhone's strong points is native support, but if developers can't use that to there advantage, there's not much point.

I'm loving it mainly due to the whole everything syncs. My calendar has quite a lot in it so I'm using it between the two and stuff like notes has been great to use them from the other.

Also messages from iMessage I have found more useful than I expected.

Even with a plus I'm finding I'm using my iPad more than ever

Yeah, I guess that's a positive. But I find that most things that I'll do will be specific to one device. For instance, I'll use my iPad for taking notes, and I'll use my phone for texting. Viewing photos probably won't be device specific, but I have Google photos for that. We'll see how that turns out. I guess I'll miss iMessage, but it's not a deal breaker. Plus, apparently :apple: is working on more Android apps, so I hope to see things like Pages, FaceTime and iMessage some time soon.

Good thinking. I imagine the combination of sAMOLED, substantial screen real estate and curved sides must translate into a great video experience. I'm a YouTube junkie, and I'm also turning into a TV show junkie, so it will be very useful for me.

I have Amazon prime so I watch a lot of films on there but showbox is great as it has the latest films. Wss is amazing for sport. Every live game for football so that alone makes it worth keeping

Is showbox free? I'm considering getting a Netflix account, which should do the trick in most cases, but I'm open for alternatives.

Yep completely free

I screen mirror everything on my Samsung tv. Once you use showbox you will find Netflix a waste of money. Even amazing prime videos has better choice imo.

But everybody is different of course

I'll give it a try, thanks.
