In all honesty, you'll be fine running 10.6 on 1GB. I ran Leopard on that amount after upgrading from 10.4 and had no problems. Snow Leopard is actually an improvement.

If you're really tight on cash, there's no need to upgrade now.
 
That's cool that it will allow you to upgrade the software with just an intel CPU.

I'm just saying and I'm not suggesting anything.. if your question is "Anybody have a Leopard upgrade cd?" Wouldn't a possible answer be "wouldn't somebody who had such a cd made it available on torrent already?"
