Anybody like Alton Brown?

I always think of him as the Mythbusters of the Food Network. Pure geekery made fun and appealing to a broad audience.

Not that I'm calling the ladies who watch Food Network broads. I'm not calling ANY ladies broads. What I meant is a wide audience. Not wide like, you know... fattie. I'm not saying that if you watch Food Network you're a fat broad. I mean, you might be... well not a fat broad but a heavy woman. Or man. Or anyone. Fat or not. I'm sure plenty of skinny people watch Food Network. I'm skinny and I like Good Eats. Ummm...

I'll go to another thread now...

AB is the only show on food network worth watching anymore. giada, rachel ray, that tool from diners, driveins and dives, paula deen, etc..... ugh. vile.

i get my cooking fix from bourdain's no reservations and zimmern's bizzare foods on the travel channel, along with some top chef on bravo.

I love the way the show is filmed. So unique for a cooking show.
Probably because he has his degree in drama, and worked in the fields of cinematography and film production until he decided to produce "Good Eats" because he was so dissatisfied by the quality of most cooking shows airing at that time.

Good Eats is a great show, and I enjoy him on Iron Chef America and Food Network specials, although I must admit I'm not a big fan of Feasting on Asphalt (granted, the second season was better than the first).

Rachel Ray is 10 times worse the Giada.

She is really annoying at times.

But her food has beat Giada's twice (once on Iron Chef and another time during a wedding special; the couple chose Ray's food over Giada's), so maybe she's better than her annoying abbreviations make her seem. :p

As for Alton Brown, I think he's very good as a host. His style is very effective at teaching you new things.

Giada makes food?

Hee hee.

Don't look at the UFO! LMAO :)

P.S. I can't stand Giada, she just gets on my nerves. But then again, Im Gay LOL :)

I'm gay and I LOVE Giada! I have to admit I do watch Giada's Weekend Getaways more than Good Eats! I LOVE HER!

And I can't stand Feasting on Asphalt.

But I love Good Eats and Giada's Weekend Getaways, they are my FAVE shows on Food Network Canada. I also like Fixing Dinner, In Search Of Perfection, Restaurant Makeover, Food Jammers, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Eat- Shrink and be Merry, Everyday Italian and all of Nigella's shows.

Ya! Funny guy, and the way they do the show (funky wide-angle cameras, etc) is cool. I do like watching him from time to time (though the original Japanese Iron Chef was better- not his fault, though).
