Interesting... If no love for iPad Mini 3 then Apple is going to kill it. :apple:

Apple won't kill it, because more than half of consumers who buy mini are not spec-junkies...They just need a more "cute" iPad, which iPad mini is.
Knowing that this is the last and the newest generation already makes them think it's good enough.

Anybody still going to buy the Mini 3?

Not me, I was interested to see how things turned out and the mini 3 was disappointing at its price point to me.

I had an iPad 2, bought an iPad Air shortly after their release. Decided I didn't care much for the air as I wanted a smaller tablet and decided to sell it and to wait and see what happened in the small tablet market. Between the price drop on the mini 2, and best buy trade values on my iPad 2 and old 4s - I wound up with a 16 gb mini 2 for $61 out of pocket and couldn't be happier with the choice.

I use a retina mini LTE and use for work. I use for technical manuals etc. and responding to emails when onsite. I considered an iPhone 6+ but the mini is still a much better size for me. It is perfect size to carry around and throw in my laptop case.

I use 1password and would love to have touch id on a retina mini but unless I was buying brand new, it's not worth it. Also, seeing that there is no spec bump in the mini over last years, I probably wouldn't be attracted to buy one as a new purchaser. They could have at least included an A8 (not necessarily the A8X) processor to make it seem like an upgrade. Even if I sold my iPad mini for a good price, I still would have a difficult time spending that money on the new mini retina because I don't believe it is a worthy upgrade.

I will keep my Mini retina and use for work like always.

I was going to buy an iPad Air 2 for home instead because I like the larger screen (iPad mini is pretty small for extended use), but am turned off by the vibration when playing audio (I tried one in store and it is real bad). I will wait and see.

really happy with my new mini 2!
really nice what you get for that price.

and im still on my first charge! my nexus 7 usually died after 4 days, even with no use..

sadly i have to charge it now, since ill be traveling this weekend.

I got my iPad mini 3 today, 64GB cellular, and going to sell my iPad mini 2, 32GB cellular, I upgraded due to 20% off the price of the iPad mini 3 when I bought it, and I needed the extra space it offers. TouchID is a plus on that note, aswell as I got an free Smart Case.

Sounds like you got a heck of a deal!

Comes down to personal preference and what makes you happy.

iPad mini 3 here, 128 GB with cellular. I'm coming from an iPad 2. I have zero regrets and really like this device.

Earlier in this thread, I posted my displeasure with the lack of upgrade between the 2 and the three. Although I'm still upset a bit, I've veen using my iPhone 6 and have grown to love Touch ID. Also, my 32gb Mini2 is running out of space.
Although I can certainly live with this fantastic device for another year, I've got a friend that wants an iPad. If she lets me give her this one, I'll get a 64gb data Mini 3 for myself.
Ok, don't ask, she's a very special friend and I'm not giving it to you. :p

I had the original Mini. I traded in that and my second 5c to the Apple store. So since I was there returning my iPhone 6 (defective), I figured I'd upgrade the Mini. So I got the 3 because it had 64GB unlike the 2 which only had 32GB in store. Overall, I do find the touch ID to be useful. So I really don't regret it. Now if I had the 2, it might not of been a very realistic upgrade though.
