I love my iPad Air 2...but I am super stoked with the iPad Pro. Since I've basically replaced a traditional computer in my home with a tablet, why not really replace it with a huge, beautiful screen like that of the Pro. I'm seriously considering trading in my Air 2 for the Pro when it officially drops. Anybody else thinking the same?

Had for me to imagine doing so... I feel the desire to use full OSX often, so the Air 2 has been a great consumption companion at the size it is.

The Pro seems like it'll be very large. I could imagine many work environments where sharing creations with live edits and boardroom projections would offer reasons for Pro. I can't imagine it for the home just yet. Maybe for gaming?

Time will tell. Laptop and Air 2 is great for me.

If I end up getting an iPad Pro (too early for me to tell, need to see the EU price in my country after taxes, and I want to see what the Surface Pro 4 is like), I'll keep my Air 2. Still plenty of things I do with it that the Pro would be too bulky for, and I can see situations where they complete each other (although fewer ones now with Split Screen in the picture - might still be more convenient to have reference materials open on the Air 2 while working on something on the Pro.)

Have to wonder if they are hoping for people to do just this. By not updating the iPad Air, it makes the new Pro all the more appealing.

I have personally been wanting a bigger iPad since I started using mine as my main music sheet reader.

I assume many will not notice how much of a big thing this bigger screen size device is for musicians. Since the size of the iPad pro is basically the same as a typical A4, I am just sold!. I will be trading my iPad air for an ipad pro quite soon :)

Not until they bump the storage. Fly lot of 13 hour trans Pacific flights and hard to bring along Music, Movies and do work with limited storage.

Not at the moment, I think the price is too high, the screen is too big, and I really really like the combination of mega power/speed, thinness, and lightness of the Air 2.
The speakers and slight speed bump are the only draws for me for the Pro... But still not enough for me to drop 1100 bucks.
I may change my mind when reviews come in or when I actually hold it in my hands.

K.

Not for me. The Pro just seems like they're whittling out the need of a MB/computer all together. Its become far too big to really class it as a tablet anymore, along with the additional keyboard function (which i actually quite like, is a shame no thought was given to Air 2 owners with regards to this) If your not in the business to use and abuse the new abilities of the pro it'll just be wasted...think i'll give it a pass...

No because the iPad Air 2 has the perfect balance of screen size, weight, battery life, and performance. I think the idea of a bigger iPad screen sounds nice, but in practicality it will be too big for my use. Kinda like how the 6 Plus is just too big for one handed use.

The 9.7" screen is perfect for viewing websites in portrait or landscape as well as watching movies. I don't want to shell out $1000 for a screen that I will just hold farther away because it is too big.

And the worst part is that you know they are going to implement 3D Touch next year. If anything, you're better off waiting a year and getting the iPad Pro after the iPad Pro 2 is released. Prices will hit rock bottom for the older model.

not sure... heavier, pricy - not only the device but accessories to buy with it. i want to see the battery life - in air2 they changed the screen tech to save the battery and reduced scanning the screen, so all stylus were useless. now they doubled scanning again to recognize the pencil. i want to know how it affects the battery.

I will trade my air 2 in for a pro.
My ipad air 2 stays at home anyway, it is just a matter if you want to pay the price and handle the size.

Of course apple did not release the air 3 on purpose.
Now, with no price reduction on the air 2 , i can sell it for a good price and get the pro.
I think about 10 to 15% of current air 2 owners, are thinking about getting the pro. They will sell like hotcakes(for a niche product that is so expensive).

In november it will be hard to get one, mark my words.

I currently have a 64gb air 2 lte that I love .. mainly for the unlimited data .. have been thinking about getting an iPad pro lte and selling my rMBP and air 2 and getting an iMac

I'm thinking of it and also getting a mini 4 so I still have the small tablet for my backpack. Ditching my laptop, I hardly use it as is so the Pro will be great and can't wait to read magazines etc on it.

Have an Air myself, debating whether to sell and pick up the Pro or not. I really like it, but hesitate buying a gen 1 product.

No

Learnt my lesson with the note 12.2...just too big and too much hassle.

My MacBook Pro is the only huge device I need

I'm considering doing this. I don't currently have a laptop and I think a iPad Pro would be great for photo editing. I could of course just got a Macbook but I think I'm going to get a iMac instead.

Apple Watch
IPhone 6s Plus
IPad Pro
iMac

Works for me :)
