My 3GS and 4 iPhones were black, but I switched to white ones for the 4s and 5. I was in line at the launch of the 5s but was only able to get the Space Gray. I do like it better than the black 5, but I still prefer the white faced iPhones. I'm hoping to exchange it for a silver since I have 30 days to do so, as it was purchased at an Apple store. Unfortunately, the supply is still so limited, that I'm starting to get worried that I won't find one. I've been checking the Apple site for availability, and was planning to run over to my local store when I saw they had some in stock. Is this the best approach? If the Apple site shows some available for in-store pick up, would that be the same as going in and asking for an exchange?
I see where some people are talking about lining up before the store opens, but is that necessary? If the model I wanted showed up as available, but I wasn't able to get it in time, I'd think I just need to keep trying, but I haven't seen any appear since Apple's made the in store pickup option available again. I'll be really bothered if the 30 days passes and I'm not able to exchange it. I might return it on the last day possible and reorder on line, but that's truly a last resort.
I know it seems like a big deal over something so trivial, but it's my preference and I'll hating having an iPhone that isn't my first choice for a whole year until the 6 is released.
