Tried a white one once and returned to black. I don't think the black iPhone 5 is nearly as attractive as the gray 5s.

Are you kidding me? The completely blacked out iphone 5 is gorgeous, but the new grey iphone looks great as well.

I personally had the black iphone 5, so I wanted to get white this time. I picked mine up today at best buy, I really do not care for the white front, kind of think it looks cheap, the bezels look huge on it.

I am probably going to switch it out for a black one when it is available.

My 3GS and 4 iPhones were black, but I switched to white ones for the 4s and 5. I was in line at the launch of the 5s but was only able to get the Space Gray. I do like it better than the black 5, but I still prefer the white faced iPhones. I'm hoping to exchange it for a silver since I have 30 days to do so, as it was purchased at an Apple store. Unfortunately, the supply is still so limited, that I'm starting to get worried that I won't find one. I've been checking the Apple site for availability, and was planning to run over to my local store when I saw they had some in stock. Is this the best approach? If the Apple site shows some available for in-store pick up, would that be the same as going in and asking for an exchange?

I see where some people are talking about lining up before the store opens, but is that necessary? If the model I wanted showed up as available, but I wasn't able to get it in time, I'd think I just need to keep trying, but I haven't seen any appear since Apple's made the in store pickup option available again. I'll be really bothered if the 30 days passes and I'm not able to exchange it. I might return it on the last day possible and reorder on line, but that's truly a last resort.

I know it seems like a big deal over something so trivial, but it's my preference and I'll hating having an iPhone that isn't my first choice for a whole year until the 6 is released.

I like all 3 available colors of the 5S and can't go wrong with either choice. I had a slate Iphone 5 now a space gray 5S. Would have loved to get silver or gold as a change but I'm perfectly fine as either phone would have gone into an Apple case anyways.

But I do miss the slate...

Nope. I had black 3GS and 4; white 4S and 5. I purchased silver on launch morning. I wasn't digging the silver ring around the home button, so I exchanged it for space grey. That was the main deal breaker for me, plus I wanted something different than white. Space grey is slick looking. No case for me, just Zagg HD on the back and use a bumper occasionally when I more protection :)

I am currently debating this. I have a space grey and ha had black since iPhone 4. I have an unopened gold and I am debating if I should resell it or open and try the gold.

I am going to wait for my white/gold aka champagne iPhone 5s.

I have the black 5. It looks boring or just like other non-Apple smartphones looking at it everyday / as fashion accessory / after using it over and over in awhile. Never felt like this with iPhone white. Regretted switching to black after having whites previously. Did it just to change it up.

I got the SG too because white wasn't available. My iPhone 5 was a white one.

Well after less than a day I knew I didn't want the SG. I can't stand seeing dust around be black bezel of the phone. With the white phone you can't see all that dirt. Needless to say I returned it the next day.

Yep. The dust around the bezel had me wiping it down every time I picked up the phone. I think it's worse on the 5s than it was on any of the previous models due to the indentation of the home button. Was very aggravating.

The iPhone was designed to be white.

Black was just a manufacturing compromise.

The original prototype from 2005:

Yeah. The bezels really bother me. I have a gold, and I think I am going to switch it out to grey.

If anyone wants to trade and has a MINT Condition Space Gray iPhone 5S 32GB on VZ, HMU.

I, like others, were only given the option to select Space Grey in most stores. I've had the white iPhone 4S and it became my favorite color for my iDevices. So I was devistated that they only had Space Grey. Its already past the 14 days that i could return the phone (tried to 1 day after the 14 days, the fault was on me)

Anyone else not a fan of their Space Grey.

here you go!

OP, if you're on Verizon, you're in business

Where did you purchase it? I guess not the Apple Store as they have a 30 day return policy.

I waited in line launch day for the space grey, glad I got it.

I've been back to the Apple store for other things a few times as recent as yesterday. Everybody has different tastes. To me, I just don't like any other color. That said I do like the silver more than gold. I don't like the gold one at all.

I ordered my space grey on 9/20 (4 min into the ordering rush), then went into the Apple Store on 9/21 to actually see all 3 colors in person. I was a bit shocked to see just how light the grey was. Also from the front the chamfered band looked very similar to the I4/4S, which felt like a step back... and the internal debate started. I've had the black since the 3G, and really hadn't thought about any other color (had the 4, 4S, and the 5) until then. Received the space grey on 9/25, and am still torn - I think it actually looks really good, but not as good as the I5 black... and now having looked at the silver/white more carefully, I've decided it looks quite nice. I probably would have exchanged by now, except supplies for ANY ATT model in my city has been non-existent.

I don't dislike my space grey, but my first choice was gold on launch day. I got the space grey becuase I thought it looked great and I felt like I could always exchange it later once the gold phones started coming in.

If I could just walk into an apple store and swap them out I probably would, and if that ever becomes the case between now and 10/20 I still might. But since it's not I'm good with my space grey.

Love my space grey. Gold was in abundance here in Canada on release date. I had to go to five stores before finding a Space grey. Glad I found it.

Stood in line at AT&T for 4 hours all to find out they only had space gray. Hated the look, never liked the black iPhone style and wanted to return it as soon as I could. Called Apple 3 days after launch and returning my phone and the lady said they had gold 64gb. Got to the Apple store as fast as I could and walked out with the gold and couldn't be happier. I don't like the black face and I think the white face makes the screen look a lot better, but that is all my personal opinion.

I have a white and I get fingerprints and smudges also. There is not a huge difference.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree haha. I had both the black and white iPhone 5 and then the space gray and the white iPhone 5s and every time, without a doubt the black shows more fingerprints

I'm not sure where you got your phone, but if you bought it an Apple Store, you have 30 days to return it, not 14.
