SGP responding to customers?

Greetings, all! Years-long lurker, first time poster here.

I contacted SGP through the mechanism on their website a couple of days ago and have received no response thus far. The inquiry had two purposes: a) to confirm what I read earlier on here that you can indeed order the leather skin without the Apple logo cut-out, and b) to see how responsive they are as I don't want to take a chance on ordering from an irresponsible business.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned that they hadn't received any replies to their contact attempts.

So has anyone heard from them? Obviously it seems they are shipping as people here have received some early units. but has anyone received any word (shipment or mail/phone response) from SGP since they updated the camera/flash cut-out?

i've sent 5 emails asking for a replacement of the white with the original cutout... NO RESPONSE! losers!

i'm returning my black one (also has the original cutouts) that i never put on my phone... i'll deal with my CC company/paypal to get my money back for that one if i have to.... but they sure are a ****** company to deal with... since they refuse to answer emails....

you wont get your money back on this one. i filed a paypal dispute because the picture of the website is different than what i got. paypal sided with sgp without sgp ever even responding to the dispute....terrible

Not sure what the issues are with SGP's email responses, or lack thereof. But I did have success getting things straightened out contacting them via Twitter (@sgpstore).

They must be reading the emails sent via the website.

I ordered the EX Crystal on 7/25 before I saw the leather skin and immediately wanted it. I emailed on 7/26 via the web form to cancel my original order and within an hour I saw that my order had been cancelled (it hadn't been shipped yet). I never got an email from them, I knew only because I checked the order online. That being said, four days later I have not received a refund. I emailed again with no response and I called two different numbers with no response. I'm going to try those numbers again tomorrow, otherwise I'll open a dispute with PayPal. I really do hope the product makes up for this bad customer service.

I got a response after putting them on blast via Twitter and then emailing cs@sgpemail.com. I also CC'd david@sgpemail.com, jason@sgpemail.com, and info@sgpemail.com

Ridiculous that I had to do that to get a response, but I got my replacements and they sent me a free gift

Not trying to blow my own trumpet but if you buy anything off me you'll always get an instant answer to a question and my covers have had great feedback! Chanty56 on ebay if you want to look me up!

I have a brand new black leather skin guard with the oval cutout. I am willing to sell it for $11. anyone who is interested shoot me a pm!

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I still have received no word from SGP. I very much wanted to do the leather back with a Scoche band, but SGP isn't replying and Scoche doesn't seem keen on correcting a manufacturing flaw. Ended up getting an Incase Slider instead (which I'm very happy with, BTW).

Ok just installed mine. Even with the teardrop cut out, my flash isn't affected. I took before and after shots and they look basically identical.

It looks good over the Wrapsol Ultra (and the bumper still fits with both...and I didn't have a loose bumper to begin with), and I like knowing that the Apple logo is protected from scratches too. I also like that I have the extra drop protection under the black skin.

The adhesive on the back of this thing means BUSINESS! It sticks like crazy, so an error in positioning, is a pain! I started trying to position with the camera and then work down to the apple logo and had to peel the top centimeter or so up twice. Both times I did this it was really tough to pull back up and it completely pulled up half of my Wrapsol Ultra skin, so I had to squeegee it back down and then try to reposition the SGP skin guard.

Once I finally got it down and put my bumper back on, I realized it was shifted about 1 mm to the right so there was a sliver of glass (Wrapsol) shining through on the left side. That kind of annoyed me, so I've been messing with it and have been able to shift it back over by just using my hands to push it across the phone. Not really easy to do, but you can move it ever so slightly. My guess, however, is that I'm actually just moving the Wrapsol skin under the SGP skin, but nonetheless it did the trick and I am happier with how it looks more even now!

wow 2 skins and a bumper... comment withheld

I received my SGP oleophobic + leather back with the oval cut out. both of my items were perfectly cut, and im not having any issues with flash

you guys are really too damn picky

Thehopscotch - I'm planning to clear skin then put this sgp on. From your post, it sounds to me as if the clear skin wasn't dry yet since you were able to squeegee it down again after a pullup. Is that true?

I'd love to hear from others who put the SGP over clear skin and how difficult it was to reposition. I'm almost 1/2 tempted to stick the sgp on the skin before applying and apply them both as a unit at the same time. Hmm....

Has anyone (without the bumper) had problems with the edges peeling up?

If I install and remove the leather skin guard, can it be installed at a later time? Will the adhesive still be strong?

anyone know how to order the leatherskin for international/other countries than US???
when im ordering it asks state/province but is not taking anything!
and the drop-downlist is not appearing!

any other possibilities to order it online?

Its possible, I got mine delivered to Australia without any checkout issues.

I am a little disappointed. I got mine today and it has the tear drop camera cutout. After changing the pictures on their web site, I thought they would be shipping the oval cutout.

The tear drop camera opening is so tight around the flash that I cannot align the skin guard perfectly with the phone.

I worked hard to get the camera and flash right in the center of the tear drop, then noticed that the skin guard had a larger gap on one side of the phone. If I peel it up and center the skin guard between both sides of the phone, the flash is covered.

I wish they just shipped me the oval opening...

Strange they are shipping the old cutout template skins and not the new ones?

You guys who have had the leather skin for a while now: is it easy to keep clean? Does it tend to show oil from fingerprints, etc? Thinking about getting one but wanted to see the reviews after having it on a while.

How durable is this phone? Has any1 dropped the phone with this setup? Looks stunning but it does make me wonder how practical this is. Has anyone tried it with zagg back?

my girlfriend has had the white one for 2+ weeks now and has no problems whatsoever... and she's not very careful with her phone at all. if there are any marks on it they easily wipe away.

Fingerprints and oil don't really show on the skin. It's a smooth piece of synthetic leather. I've never really had to clean mine other than a wipe or 2 on my pants when something sticks to it.

 It offers no drop protection. It's just a skin. Not sure why you would stick it on top of a zagg since both are the same thing but made of different materials.

Definitely easy to maintain. It doesn't get fingerprints unless I touch my face, then touch the phone :D
