So I was trying to buy an iPhone at 3 am on preorder morning but my phone wouldn’t go through. I got this message instead saying I had xyz reservation and that Apple will email me and I’ll have 24 hours to make a decision and check out.
The thing is, I have no clue what that even means. Do I have an iPhone on lock for release date for pick up?
Yes, Order night 3:06am eastern time zone My Apple Store app finally comes up, (wife's went through perfectly smooth) and gets stuck on Sprint’s pin password entering screen. Says can’t contact Sprint’s servers keep trying every few minutes. I work at 4am so while driving I watching a spinning circle that I have to refresh every few minutes. Get to work and log into my Sprint Account to see what’s up. It says they changed their security procedure and want to send me a text or email to enter a code. I do that, get in, everything looks fine, log back out, then go back into Apple Store app. Don’t know if that helped but it finally works and says delivery 5-6 weeks…..ughhhhh…., oh wait….or Nov 3rd if I pick it up at my Apple store. I lucked out, since I have the least popular carrier company, Apple Still had one for me for Nov 3rd if I go to Apple Store for pick-up so I scheduled a 2pm-2:30pm pick-up Friday Nov 3rd. Yes!!! I Think everything is cool. Nope, Get home and wife says she has an email to show me. (Our shared iTunes account/apple ID is with her second email she uses, so I don’t get those emails)
It says: Something about your iPhone has been reserved with some long #, we weren’t able to reach the carrier system, we will keep your reservation for 24hrs, if you don’t click here and complete your order it will be canceled. What????? I called Apple, they said my order looks fine, that must be a 3rd phone when I was refreshing and a glitch happen. I asked why my wife’s CC was charged but not mine, she explained because of the different delivery methods. I will get charged once it ships to the Apple store and everything she sees looks fine. I don’t know, this didn’t go smooth for me for-sure. I keep going to
Apple.com and checking my Order. It has both iPhone X’s, hers says Preparing to Ship, mine says Order in Progress. I’m keep logging back in at Apple.com now that other mystery reservation canceled to see if my iPhone is still there. And waiting for my CC to be charged as another sign of things are ok. So far so good.
