Yes!!

Im thinking of selling 3G and getting 3GS on pay and go but wondering what 02 can do about me selling my 3G whilst in contract...

No, as long as you keep paying your monthly line rental they don't care. They even state it as an upgrade option on their website:

"Option 2 - purchase the iPhone 3G S on Pay & Go.
You can give your existing iPhone 3G to someone you know.

Pay Monthly customers can place their existing iPhone 3G sim card into the iPhone 3G S and receive all the latest functionality. Customers must continue to pay for their existing Pay Monthly tariff."

 Can anyone? That's CRAZY.

I'm definitely getting the itch though, I can't justify $85+ a month for phone service. Plus AT&T's coverage in northern Idaho is even more despicable than it is other places (hard to believe I know). It's just so cool.

YAY :DNorthern Idaho!:D Boise has great 3G reception, probably be tough to get good reception up in the amazing MTNs in north ID.

You could say that. No one would buy my 3G on Craigslist, so I have no money to buy the 3GS. I would be up at the Apple store right this minute if I had the money. Damn!

Not really an itch for me...more like 'why not seize an opportunity?'. I just got a warranty replacement phone for a cracked ringer switch and i'm selling it and using the money to get a new 3GS. I'm also not tied to any contract so in the end getting the new phone would cost me between £160-185.

So...why not?

I turned in my 8GB iPhone 3G for a refurbished phone and a new USB connector. I am going to wait for the software unlock and then I will unlock it to see what I can get for it. If I can get around $350-$400 I'll sell it and pay full retail for a 16GB 3Gs. My contract ends next year and I plan on upgrading to the 4G then or I may just try this again come next year and stay out of contract.

If I can't get the price I am looking to get I'll just keep my 3G. Last year I was willing to upgrade, this year I am not as eager.

If I lived in the mountains or any of the many valleys and canyons like I used to it would be an excuse.:D Unfortunately I live on the Palouse prairie where one well placed tower would do wonders. Still no. Even my T-Mobile drops out in my apartment.:(

I'm in two minds..

Apple give the iPhone the best software with crappy hardware to back it up :( I don't know if I can go back to using a phone with bad speakers.
