Thinking about switching up to a 15incher. I just got my 13inch macbook pro in february, so it's a little weird upgrading already when it's so new. But i decided after the return period that i wanted the 15 and there people were saying "no! Don't sell yet! Wait for the new ones!". Well, here are the new ones! I'll probably sell my like new macbook pro for $900 and go pick up a baseline $1800 15inch pro. Still thinking about it.

I can either go through the trouble of selling and then putting up a grand for a new one, or i can get an appletv +mountain lion and just stream everything to my LED tv. Decisions decisions

I'm totally satisfied with mine, but I will upgrade to Haswell next year just like all the new rMBP owners.

Cause my next MBP is gonna be so much faster than yours, LOL>

my screen is ****ed on my late 09 MBP so due that I may be forced to update it cause now I have to have my thumb pushing on the screen to stop it from whiting out. But with wifi ac pretty much here and no on the new MBP makes it hard to buy one!.

Totally satisfied with my late 2011 17". I see NO way of making a comparable computer (120GB SSD, 750GB HD, 17" display) out of todays release. Glad to see displays evolving, but I prefer the thicker form factor and upgrade options it affords users. I need to get a far better system for storing RAW images before I consider going to a main computer with less storage.

I am definitely still happy with mine. I have a 15 inch early 2011, with the 2.3 GHz i7 quad, just upped to 16GB RAM, 750GB HD, and the Hi-Res Anti-Glare screen. A 500gb SSD is on my radar for later in the summer. I also like the superdrive, and wouldn't want to get an external one. I can live without the retina display, even though it's probably awesome, especially since I only paid $1450 for my MBP used.

Perfectly happy with my 2010 17 mbp 128 intel ssd 8gb ram gorgeous screen. It is now 18 months old not a single issue. I will pass on the Retina hype over priced lol.

I Have the Final Production MBP 17" Ever Made

My new MBP 17" 2.5GHZ, 256Gig SSD arrived exactly as spec'd after a longer than usual wait for production.

I believe I might have the last MBP 17" ever made.

Serial# C02HM0BN****.

I bought it exactly because I was betting the 17" was forever finished. It's a perfect laptop that loves to sit on a desktop and dislikes travel except by air.

It's a phenomenal computer worthy of it's cost.

Show me if I'm wrong!

Yup. I'm content with mine for the following reasons;

1. I can get 1600MHz RAM if i want and upgrade to 16GB or even 32GB when they become more feasible...all for a fraction of Apple's BTO price which you're stuck with for life.

2. I already have a SATA3 SSD installed and can up the capacity/brand in future

3. I have a 1680x1050 HR-AG screen and the Retina screen has a functional resolution of 1440x900. Yeah things will look crisper but i'm also sacrificing desktop space as well. Unless you mess around with the scaling which is never quite as good as default.

4. Majority of apps won't be compatible for a while

5. CPU and GPU upgrades are evolutionary and you're not really missing out if you own a Sandy-Bridge machine with dGPU.

With all these considered i shall be hanging on to my Early 11 MBP for a while longer.

I'm definitely satisfied with my mid-2010 15". It's still running Snow Leopard (I couldn't find any reason to upgrade to Lion) and does everything I need it to do. And now that I recently upgraded the ram (8 GB) and the hard drive (1 TB), I can do more. When SSD prices drop in the future, I can swap the hard drive with a large SSD and make the computer fly... :D

I wouldn't be able to do all this with the new MBP. I also still use the optical drive often, and need the ethernet port for when I need to share my internet or when I'm in places where wifi doesn't exist.
