About the only change I foresee for myself as I age is scaling back displays to 2 or 3 and using a smaller sized Mac (not an iMac though, not my thing). My phone will still be a phone and my iPad still an iPad.
so true!!! the updates rarely feel exciting anymore, Apple Intelligence has been a pretty underwhelming rollout, and some of the recent design choices just seem... off. On top of that, the constant price increases make it harder to justify upgrading when the improvements are so incremental.

It's a 2/3rds ratio of real to art. But they aren't random choices. Each one was chosen because of the strength of their character (no pun intended) and/or for what they represent. Positioning also means something. Some of them are dual in that both the art and the voice actress appear. The backgrounds and other pieces of art also mean something.
SE1 then iPhone 7 and now Samsung A17. But my phone is very much a secondary device as I prefer laptops. Smartphones and tablets are like Muppet Babies of the computer world.

I am told that it was purchased by my father's great uncle sometime in the 1870s for use in his job as a railroad conductor. My research says that while it can be circa 1870s, this particular model has some non-standard qualities and was therefore not certified for railroad use. So, I have to assume that while he was a conductor, the watch was probably for personal use. Like a lot of stories and young kids half-paying attention, this probably got conflated and my dad believed it.
The industry, not just Apple, reached peak phone quite a few years ago. There will only ever be incremental updates at this point unless and until there's a major technological paradigm shift in the world. As phones have gotten closer and closer to that ultimate form of essentially just a slab of glass with no cruft in the way between and your digital stuff, there is less and less room to introduce 'big changes'.
I'm productive and having fun, using Macs, iPhones and some other smaller Apple gear both in my professional and personal life. Why would I lose interest?
I have no idea what you are even talking about, how on earth is iPadOS not simple? It’s literally the product name, followed by OS meaning operating system. It cannot get any simpler than that.
