No, its vanity to show off a bunch of nothinginess to strangers. You dont put stickers on your car, on your house, on your clothes, on your phone, its purely for ego,. to show you are so interesting to complete strangers.

I know I’m the odd one out. I’ve never purchased a computer with the intent of selling it. Use it till it no longer serves a purpose then recycle it. They are disposable, not investments.
That makes two of us. The last time I sold a used Mac (other than one Apple trade-in) was my Mac IIcx when I replaced it with a Quadra 650 in 1994.

Actually, lots of people put stickers on their cars.

To me, it's personalizing it, like hanging pictures inside your house. I mostly use my MBP in my house or hotel rooms, so it's not for complete strangers, it's for me. I see it, and it says it's mine and it's not just another featureless aluminum laptop.

And, on rare occasion, it's been a conversation starter in a public place.

Same, I keep mine until they're essentially worthless, then push them a bit further in various roles.

I sticker bombed my MacBook Pro and I plan to do the same with my Neo I just got. I'm on the hunt for a a good Retro Apple logo, and saved a probably a couple dozen stickers on Etsy that I want for my MacBook or my car. I thought about a case, but don't want any extra weight and I know a skin wouldn't hold up for long.
