I don't understand people who don't understand - it seems very simple to me. We have one TV connected to TWC cable. Wife likes to watch her shows (Bridezilla) and I like to watch completely different shows (SyFy, Discovery and Travel Channels). So we're both happy. What is hard to understand?

You're a good person, Charlie Brown :)
I usually don't explain, to others, why I need or want something or why I've made a decision they might not understand. Guess that's just me ;)

I also don't like arguing with people . . . life's too short

Worked perfectly for me. Definitely a great start..hopefully they keep improving it. Quality surprised me; I was expecting Youtube.

I definitely agree. When I was, sporadically, getting channels the quality was fantastic!

I think the servers might have been jammed. It worked great for me earlier this afternoon but I kept getting the "we are unable to complete your request"

And now it's working off and on. I think I am only seeing 14 or 15 channels here in the Dallas area.

I think you are right.
Read my "Seems like they are trying" comment posted here.

It would be great if you could do this connected anywhere. If i'm in my home..chances are I am where a TV is! Hell, I can see my TV taking a ****!

Heavy Demand Crashed Our iPad App Last Night

Someone posted this on another thread from TWC blog:

We were pretty sure that our iPad app was going to be fairly popular, but we had no idea that it was going to be the most downloaded app in the iTunes store yesterday. The demand was overwhelming, in more ways than one. At about 8 o’clock last night the app crashed under a much heavier load than we anticipated. Our engineering team is working as hard as they can to put a fix in place and get everything up and running as soon as they can.

For the time being, the app is running with only 15 channels. We have found that by temporarily reducing the number of available channels, we can ease strain on the authentication process. This will enable us to offer at least some sort of an experience to our customers while we get a fix in place. We’ll add the other 17 channels back in as soon as we can fix the underlying issue, and we’ll be adding more channels in future iterations of the app as well.

On the one hand, this is a nice problem for us to have — it’s great to see that our customers are excited about this, and we’re thrilled to know that our vision of TV’s future is one that the public wants. In other words, it’s not a good party unless you run out of beer.

On the other hand, this is really frustrating for us and our customers, too. And we’re really sorry for the inconvenience. We know how frustrating it can be when a brand-new product doesn’t work well. Please bear in mind that this our first foray into the iPad app world, and the first cable company to offer live streaming to the iPad at all. We’re going to figure out a fix and implement it as soon as we possibly can.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and again, we’re sorry for any frustration.

I tried it out and it is pretty cool.

It would be nice if it supported either video out or airplay so I could watch Cable tv without switching video inputs or be used with the HDMI adapter (Right now it just mirrors, would be nice to have fullscreen)

It would also be nice if the toolbar at the top disappeared while watching something. It is kind of distracting and doesn't really have a point when you could just tap to bring it back up.

Seriously, did you guys think anything Time Warner does will work correctly? If I had choices in Internet i'd jump off "Road Runner".

I travel to europe a lot and was curious if there would be any way possible to trick the app into thinking you were at home using your home internet?

I'd love to be able to watch American TV abroad...

any ideas?

thanks,

Jack

Anyone on Oceanic TimeWarner Cable get this App to work?

I live in Hawaii, and some of our TWCable tech seems a little different than TWCable on the mainland.

I seem to hang at the sign-in screen (sign in button just spins). I can log in to "MyServices" on the website without any problem though.

I'm curious if it's a Hawaii thing, or just a general system not quite ready issue.

its a TWC thing

I keep getting an error that the app 'cannot communicate with my cable box' and when i try to register a device, it says none are available. very curious.

also, if you ONLY have TV service and not their internet service, is this app only good for setting your dvr?
