First test - I updated iPhone to 26.5.2, did not update my iPad or Mac (where messages failed). Still fails. I will be updating my Mac soon...

EDIT: Just updated my MacBook Pro to 26.5.2. It's still a FAIL 😢😢😢

That really sucks. Thanks for letting us know.

I posted a fix quite awhile ago, it's been working flawlessly for me but you basically need to delete your conversations and even go into your message settings and delete the text threads in recently deleted. I dont think anything Apple puts out will circumvent that step unfortunately.

I remember at least one person has reported that this is fixed in 26.6 beta without having to do that. 🤞🏼

If fails on the Mac. No broblem with my iPhone or Watch in 26.5.1. On the other hand, Mac OS can't send messages since OS 26.5. And the 26.5.2 changes nothing. Good job Apple. The PRIDE update 🤣😜🤪🤪

I tried everything else in this thread and others to no avail.
I then updated to MacOS 26.6 Beta 3 (very simple, Settings -> General -> Software Update -> click the i in the Beta Updates section) and it is fixed now.

Good to know, thank you. Sounds like the fix will be delivered shortly.

This is happening with my MacBook Air (26.5.2), so hope that 26.6 fixes this frustrating "Message Send Failure" glitch.

I followed someone’s lead up above and upgraded to the 26.6 beta. I can confirm that the 26.6 beta resolves the issue. That means we can anticipate a fix as soon as the official update becomes available to the public.

I have not been able send texts to some Android contacts with Mac or iPad, only iPhone. I did an experiment, as I needed to update my iPhone to 26.6 RC for another reason - since it was updated to 26.6, and Mac and iPad were not, I tested sending a text to an Android contact that previously failed on my Mac - still no dice. So the update must either have to be applied to Mac and iPhone, or just Mac, for Mac texts to go thru. I'll test it again when 26.6 goes out next week.
