two different levels of iPhones makes sense, if someone doesn't want to pay full price for the high end iPhone but still wants a newer iPhone it fits that market.

If sales are poor like you said then obviously it would be selling less, as that is the spot in the lineup that the 5C took. If they are the same or better then it's probably safe to say that you're wrong about the sales being poor as they would be selling about what is expected.
I think it's best if you go back and re read a few posts because you are talking about things that weren't even said by me or anyone else in this thread actually. Are sure sure that you are posting in the correct thread?
Bingo! I thought Apple was never going to make another plastic iPhone, but here we are. Step back, IMO.
I hope for this to be the beginning and end for the C line. Although there is a chance that Apple could come out with a 5sc as the replacement for the 5s in this year's lineup. I hope not, but thats what I predict. I hope for Apple to just keep the 5c as the baseline Free unit, 5s as the mid-tear, and 6 as the flagship. Or, better yet, discontinue the 5c altogether and put the 5s at a lower cost ($50 versus the standard $100 for the mid-tear) to appeal to both the mid-tear and baseline buying group (I'd like to see how many "free" iPhones they have sold like the 3GS after the 4s came out and the 4 after the 5 came out). I think this would be better as to avoiding another iOS 7/iPhone 4 fiasco. Lets face it, the ONLY reason iPhone 4 runs iOS 7 is because of the fact iOS 7 was announced when Apple was still selling the iPhone 4 as the freebie.
It's a phone and nobody is holding a gun to my head forcing me to buy it. I couldn't care less if it lives or dies quite honestly. It's a good phone and I am not on a personal crusade against it as many seem to be.
I have yet to find a 5S in the wild yet have 5C's. All salmon pink ( worst colour imo )
I also feel the 5C looked nicer than the 5S. For the 6 or 6C I would love to have the same style but a White feont for differentiation and Swap out Salmon and Yellow and White for a Black, Orange and Purple.

Yeah makes sense. Had the 5c just been a plastic 5s the sales would HAVE been much better without a doubt
It is probably hard to tell since most people have them in a case. How they call that salmon color red makes no sense.
