i want my PUSH, C&P, TURN-BY-TURN, and VIDEO RECORDING

then, this will be the most awesome phone!
cmon apple i need the video to ditch my snap and shoot

I'm excited for post 2.1, but really for now I'm just settling into actually using and enjoying my phone which, thanks to 2.1, works nearly flawlessly. You can always be excited for new features, but just remember that Apple is doing pretty well as far as actually updating and improving the software (both in terms of bug fixes and actually adding features). Just enjoy your phone, and use it as much as you can, and whenever those new features arrive you'll be excited, as opposed to angry you had to wait so long for them. Remember, Apple really doesn't owe you anything - feeding us with updates just shows how great of a company they can be.

update post 2.1 would be nice. maybe a 2.1.1 just to stabilize safari since it crashes on me 50% of the time. apps are still crashing, although to a less extent. but that is probably a fault of the developer and not apple.

No, it's just you.
Wrong. ;)

I check MacRumors' RSS feed numerous times every day only because I'm hoping to one day see a '2.2 released!' post. I haven't had any stability problems since 2.1, but the phone is still horribly, pitifully sluggish. I have to reboot several times a day to keep it running well, but it's still MUCH slower to open apps, settings, Photos, etc than my 1G or 2G iPod Touch. I hope 2.2 address the performance issues. Until it's out, I'll keep checking every day.

I've changed my signature, just for you mavis.

Nice. That ought to prevent at least some confusion. If course, people in the mobile site can't see sigs, so you'll probably still have to deal with the occasional stick in the mud, but at least you've made an effort. ;)

I am waiting for an update not because I want something new or fancy or some new apps. I want my iPhone to work like it did before I updated to 2.1 I want to be able to set me email to for every 15 minutes or 30 minutes. This is what Apple claims the phone should do and doesn't. I am just asking for what I once had and for what Apple says their phone can do. I don't think that is asking for to much so yes, I am impatiently waiting for an update.

Safe to say that 90% of users who frequent this forum are always thinking about the next update. We like new stuff, what can we say? :D

With that said, enjoy your phone, and download an app when you need a "new toy" fix. And recognize that major 0.1 updates will only come about every two months if we're lucky.
