When you say something is fact you're usually meant to back it up with something which you havent done

I personally think the build quality is the best so far in terms of the macbook line. I remember when the plastic models came out:

Random shutdowns
Overheating
Broken plastics
Stained plastics
etc

This rev the only thing i've heard complaints of (and these are usually perfectionists) are:

Loose battery cover (which is a minor issue lets face it)
and subpar screen (the screen whilst not great is the best macbook screen thus far)

The MBA rev 1 AND even rev 2 (Read thin horizontal lines thread) had issues, Macbooks rev 1 had issues, MBP rev 1 AND last rev had issues . Unibody revision...given Apple's history i think is faring very well

My trackpad works...granted drivers could be better for bootcamp but thats a software issue, my display has no dead pixels and my battery cover isn't loose nor do i have slanted keys. When you mass produce something there will always be bad eggs but these are the exception not the norm

No offense but i think you're just trying to make yourself feel better about not buying one...then again you would 'rationalize' that i am trying to make myself feel better about buying one wont you...

I'm pretty sure Apple will release the Rev B in Macworld, if not maybe a price drop or speed bump. With apple, anything is possible. I hate having to shell out $2000+ on a machine only to be outdated in a couple of months.

The biggest issue with the first gen MB is the screen flickering! Apple fixed my machine but it came back in a month and I was out of warranty!

From a first time Apple product owner here are my 2 cents.

First off, I own a 2.8 MPB, fully decked out - and I LOVE it!

Is it perfect? In my eyes yes. To all you freakishly anal mac boys out there, I 'had' a loose battery cover (fixed myself). The horror!

Now. From what I've read on these forums - there are 3 HARDWARE issues with REV A that some folks have encountered.

1) Crooked keys
2) Loose Battery Cover.
3) Dinged up Cases.

Oh the horror? Who the hell are building these things, monkeys?

Common now

Dinged up cases - thats a shipping issue.

Loose Battery Cover - minor annoyance that anyone with two thumbs can fix on their own. IF they decide to fix this, I'll get the modified cover, problem solved.

Crooked Keys - for those of you out their with a full row of bad keys - my apologies - for those of you out their measuring a millimeter of height differences between keys - please seek mental assistance.

I wouldn't say that the above 3 issues would warrant calling REV A the worst ever in apple history, or a failure. Quite the opposite.

As for waiting for a REV B - have fun - I don't see them releasing a revision till Q2 of next year at the earliest.

You should probably wait a couple of years. By then the whole line will be updated. Seriously, who cares?

What does it matter if they update the line... will your machine suddenly stop functioning? The laptop line hasn't been updated in almost a year, then the unibodies come out. Now you think that it's worth waiting until the first of the year because another updated is imminent? You're just trying to find an excuse to not buy one when you really want it bad.

I am very happy with the build quality of my new Unibody MBP. She is in pristine condition: no loose bottom cover, no crooked keys, no problems. And I practically inspected with a magnifying glass right after the unboxing ceremony. Otherwise, I'd have to dump her for another ;)

My MBP Classic is one of the latest revs before the new unibody design. It has some keys that are not so straight and a ray of light from the backlit keyboard that shines onto the side of an adjacent key (not to mention that the GPU could die without warning according to other discussions on this board).

The keys on my Unibody MBP rev A are straight, which is more than I can say for the Classic which has undergone multiple revs. The overall build quality of my Unibody MBP rev A is much better not to mention running cool and silently. Go figure.

I'm curious, how do you know it's a HER?? :)
