Anyone else missed the pre-ordered & is waiting 2-3 weeks?

Certainly on the south coast of the UK this morning many of the stores have the new iPads in stock. Comet have all models and most of the mobile network stores have them for sale.

There seems to be a lot less interest in the new model than there was on the iPad2. Personally I cannot see any new features I need in the new model that make my iPad2 less usuable.

Wait until you you see an H264 HD clip or movie on the Retina screen and then say 'I cannot see any new features I need.....'

The last experience I had with preorders was the iPhone 4 launch when Softbank had me waiting over 6 weeks. This time I preordered a 32GB LTE on 3/14 and took delivery yesterday, 3/18. I'm told that some of the Softbank shops in the area have stock now, mostly 16GB.

That's odd - I preordered a day before you but my shipping date is April 4th! Although from what I can tell, the 3G model is more readily available here ...
 
I dithered about pre-ordering, and missed the window. Apple in Canada is still quoting 2-3 weeks for the 64GB wifi. However, at noon on Friday, I walked into the local Future Shop (which was nearly empty) and got one, no problem. The clerk told me that they had been a little busy at the start of the day, but not as much as with the iPad2, and that they had received a much larger supply this time than they did with the iPad2.
 
I Pre-ordered here in the uk on the 8th (around 12.30am on the 8th) but went for the finance option, got the money through to Apple on the 10th but now my dispatch date is 2nd April with a delivery date of the 10th! Tried phoning Apple on Friday to be told they're very busy then got cut off even though my business was important to them blah blah blah. If I hadn't got the finance in place I'd cancel and got to a local store and buy off the shelf.

Having to wait another 3 weeks sucks and I think that's way too long! I'm wondering if calling them again would speed up delivery. I won't pre-order again! :mad:

Mine is back ordered until 3/30. I ordered from an online retailer to avoid sales tax. It's worth the wait to save the $60.

Called my local Apple store and asked them if they had any iPads in stock. A half hour later I had a 32GB White iPad 3.

Quick and easy. They had plenty in stock.

Yeah, there's no question that the wifi model is in shorter supply around here as well.

Just went to Apple Store Shibuya, and once again they had everything in stock but 64GB wifi. The guy said they ran out of that one Saturday morning and hadn't received any new ones since the initial shipment. No idea when they'd more in, either. Argh :mad:

I heard the same about no ETA at all on the 64GB. That sucks. I hope you find one soon. It could be a production issue but I wonder if it's not just simple demand. I don't understand how they're selling any 16GB models at all, considering the increased retina app sizes. I consider my 32GB a bare minimum. I'm hoping I don't end up regretting not springing for the 64 down the line. :confused:

Well I actually got the 64GB iPad today. I checked the website last night at 8:56PM and they had the 64GB available for reservation so that's what I did. I checked again ten minutes later and there were none available. :)

I guess the 64GB is the most popular model here, at this point anyway ...
 
cancel your pre order and go to a store and pick it up!! seems like stores have a ton of them and still in the store, why wait?
