Well, I am totally bummed.

I do this every year, and without fail my phone has always shown up on Launch Day. This year, My phone arrived into the Charlotte UPS Delivering Hub at 5:23am, but never went out for delivery.

Shows will be delivered by 7pm, BUT it was never put on the truck for delivery, Last scan was at 5:23am when it arrived.

My watch delivered by UPS today, but I was so excited for my Cosmic Orange Pro Max and at this point who knows when it will deliver :(

Apple said I have to wait until after the date passes for them to help.

I have seen my stuff go from Memphis to PA to
Greensboro to Charlotte then to Concord in the past. When I first started getting apple products FedEx delivered them all and I never missed a delivery date.

How is the Air in the meantime ?
I am actually REALLY torn on what to do when my PM delivers. This feel of this phone is spectacular, The one speaker does not bother me like I expected, BUT the one camera is the one hang up. I do not like how I am not able to zoom out to get more in the frame, that just may be the deal breaker... BUT I am hearing the Orange PM is having issues with the color and it chipping and scratching. I know the PM's at the Apple store on Saturday were all showing scratches on the backs already just one day of being on display.

Yah, all those people scratching up the demo phones with magnetic accessories they are slapping on makes the anodizing wear off the aluminum.

I used to machine and anodize aluminum for the motion picture industry years ago and know a lot about aluminum alloys and types of anodizing. Just get a case and don't worry about it.

I don't use the camera at all (wife does that with her Pro) so non starter for me.

Single speaker is not an issue as I only use it for speaker phone calls and face time.

Battery life: loving my Air - over the weekend it has retained charge for 2 days straight.
Ultimate test is during the work week - Air will be measured against my 16 Pro that it's replacing.

Now my PM is out for delivery, so we will see if I get it, then it will be decision time. I am not opening the PM box until I make that decision.

Cosmic Orange PM finally delivered!!
Congratulations! UPS still has no clue where my phone is. While I’ve been waiting, I’ve considered buying an Air. I’d be interested in your decision. I played with one at Walmart on Saturday and really liked it. The only reservation I had with the air was the speaker.

Do you use AirPods? If yes then why would you care if there is only (1) speaker.

Dave
Sometimes I use AirPods, but other times I listen to the radio or podcasts without them. After walking the dogs in the morning and getting breakfast together, I usually play a podcast or an online station and don’t have my pods.

I will say the Air truly exceeded my expectations on how much I was going to like it, and I forgot the excitement for having a truly new iPhone felt, not since the X did I have this awe when holding the phone.

The weight in my hand, how it feels in my hand, and when its in my pocket it was fantastic, Did not feel the weight pulling down on my shorts pockets, etc. The screen is stunning, especially with using the Liquid Glass theme, it just feels like a sheet of glass in your hand. The speaker did not bother me like I expected, It sounded fine for listening to You Tube, etc.

The battery life was fine, no issues with heavy use for the 48 hours either.

My Pro Max delivered today, and I cant get over how heavy this phone feels to me now that I have used the Air for 48 hours, The Pro Max truly feels like a brick now lol.

The decision was tough, much harder than I expected. But the single camera is what killed it for me, No wide angle lens especially became the deal breaker. I was at lunch gathering yesterday with my Corvette group, I tried to get a pic of the cars parked together and I could not get far enough back to get them all in a single frame, where as on the Pro I can just zoom out. I take lots of pictures through the year at car meets, or just day to day and sadly at the end of the day the single camera just was a deal breaker. The night shots are not even as clear on the Air as the Pro.

So this week I will return the Air.

The Air is a solid phone, and if the camera was at least a dual camera, I would have had no reason to return it. To those hating on the air without even truly experiencing it, It is a fantastic phone, both in looks, technology design, and feel.

Mine did finally arrive Sat. I wasn’t home but my neighbor was able to sign for it after I talked to the UPS driver on speaker with my neighbor. I was at the gym at 9:30 when it arrived. Yay!

Yep. They act like this is some unprecedented thing. Come on, it’s the 17th iteration by now. I think they should understand how to take a lot of orders and ship them out!

I went with 17pro instead of my pm like usual. Glad I did, I felt that 17 pro was same weight than my 16 pro Max. Also gonna pickup air also
