When I watched the keynote I legitimately thought Steve was joking when he said that it will be available on the app store for $4.99.

I mean, of course i'll buy it but it still seems somewhat petty of Apple to charge for this.

Just my opinion. Anyone else?

When I first read this thread I legitimately thought it was a joke. Then I realised you have a serious sense of entitlement problem.

Nope not peeved. Rather have the cost when I want it rather than upping the unit cost.

Is it not petty of Apple to charge for Final Cut when you spend thousands on a computer?

I'm sorry, but $4.99 is peanuts really.

not really....my taco bell meal cost me 5.50

and it came out of my butt 12 hours later. How do you think i felt about that?

Why should I be peeved? And why is Apple being petty? It seems to me you are being bratty and full of self-entitlement.

Entitlement again.

Really> You're PEEVED that they are charging for software? Are you peeved that Apple is charging for Pages, Numbers and Keynote for the iPad?

The iPhone comes with basic editing capabilities. If you want a power program, you'll need to pay for it.

Just why do you think it should be free?

It amazes me how people do not want to pay for something they need and want to use.

think your the only peeved one. I'm ok with the $5 too now a bumper for $29 bucks that's silly to me. however people will pay it and that's ok too, just not me! Capitalism what a concept! ;)

honestly- a reality check here.

Who is going to edit videos on a tiny iPhone screen? Nobody.

They made the app for iPad just as Keynote and Pages were made for iPad.

Apple then, after the Gizmodo leak, needed to have something new to show at WWDC so they scaled it down for iPhone 4.

In a couple weeks after iPhone 4, they will push it to iPad for $9.99 where it was supposed to be all along.

$4.99 == absolute bargain for what it does.

But some people will always be cheapskates.
This

I do hope it's available for the iPad as well as some way to get iPhone HD video into the iPad (without using email).

Me.

I've used ReelDirector (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/reeldirector/id334366844) a few times and its pretty cool to make ad hoc videos. Not everyone wants Final Cut Pro levels of edting power and not everyone carries the tools around to do such editing.

I feel bad for ReelDirector. I paid $8 when it came out and it works as described, but perhaps they'll still have a market for iPhone 3GS users, since iMovie won't run on anything prior to the iPhone 4.

I would have paid more for this app easily... and yeah, I'll be damned if I'm paying $30 for a bumper. Jesus. I'll buy a Chinese knockoff for a dollar on eBay days after the i4 is out.
