My 1st gen ipad is doing duty as the other of all universal remotes, but it is starting to show its age and it is quite heavy in that context for my little arthritic handies. Which is why I have a mini on order for delivery on launch day. The 1st gen will then live on my bedside table as an audio book player / "going to sleep" video player.
I have an iPad 3 for serious stuff - by "serious" I mean used to display song lyrics when I sing in a blues band (I can't remember ***** so I need a prompt !) and to play backing tracks out for another project I'm involved with.
I very rarely sell anything I buy if I upgrade. I always manage to use stuff somehow.

Yeah, I still have one. I even paid for an out of warranty repair recently and so ended up with a new/refurb one.

still have the ipad 1 but purchased a ipad mini for my mom and will upgrade to a ipad 4 in january after the holidays.

It seems like iPad1 crashes a lot using Safari with the 256MB RAM even with 1 tab open. 5.1 did make it more smooth and crash-free but 5.1.1 made Safari crash again constantly (like 5.0 and 5.0.1).

Anyone else experience 5.1.1 performance to be worse than 5.1? The update doesn't mention safari updates except security upgrades which some were for Safari. I believe this introduced memory leaks.
