Someone said a iPad one inch away is like a 50 inch HDTV screen? Yeah maybe if you're in Cleveland and the TV is in Brazil, lol.

netflix does NOT stream 1080p. please check your facts. the quality is nowhere near that of bluray.

Maybe you should check your facts:

Rejoice, PS3 owners, your Netflix streaming experience just got vastly better than anything else on the market. Starting October 18 Netflix on the PS3 will no longer require a disc, and it'll stream some content with 1080i 1080p resolution and / or 5.1-channel surround audio, while everyone else will be stuck with a max of 720p stereo for the time being.

No, the quality is nowhere near blu-ray quality, but that has to do with the bitrate, not resolution.

Netflix quality is great on the iPad. I really enjoy watching my shows/movies on the iPad (had a loaner iPad from work; haven't bought mine yet) in bed.

iPad at 1 foot from your face will cover all of the 50" TV 4 meters away. A fact even a 10 year old boy would know.
