Anyone else using their iPhone a WHOLE lot less now?

The iPad has been out for 5 days, it's a new toy, of course your other gadgets will get less use. Give it some time, things will even out a bit.

I'm not going to sent to use the internet on a smaller screen, play games on a smaller screen, write emails with a smaller keyboard, the only thing left is making calls. And the times when I need to pack light and wont have my iPad of course. 🙂

iPhone feels very small and weird to me and now is just a phone to me. I stopped using it for daily tasks and use my iPad for those tasks completely. Now my iPhone last 3-4 days without recharging.

I'm thinking my iPhone 3GS will be my last phone for a long time. If it dies, I'll get a dumb phone instead and cut down my cell bill.

Yep. I hardly ever use my iPhone now except for phone calls. Maybe the occasional email but that's it. In fact when my contract is up in Sept. I may switch back to a plain old cell phone.

For you guys and gals replying that you're using your macs a whole lot less, I'm very interested to hear how that evolved over time.

Prediction = even more iPad, even less mac...

Ya, my mbp is pretty much permanently setup on my desk downstairs now but wakes up frequently when my ipad tells it to play music over airtunes or I need to remote in to print, or do something else the ipad won't... I think both are still needed but the iPhone really doesn't complement my way of life any more.

Even looking at the iPad on its own... we only have a wifi version and the iPhone gives us NO WAY to give it any internet if we're away from home! Well, without jailbreaking of course... Being able to setup wifi tether on another device (Nexus One) is awesome companion for the iPad when it isn't by wifi.

I honestly think the $30/month data plans (+ extra base $$) for 3G iPads is a waste when everyone is already paying that for their smartphones... But, under AT&T's current tethering model, they WANT you to pay an extra $30/month. Unlocked Nexus on AT&T is the way to go I think. 🙂

My new combination is:

iPad + Nokia E72 (running JoikuSpot) = instant wifi whenever and where ever.

The 17 inch MBP is getting a bit only. The iPhone gets love from time to time, but once my 3G iPads arrive (the Mrs. wants one too) there might be less love for the iPhone and practically zero for the Nokia.

I know Apple wants the iPad to go between a phone and a laptop but the more I see it, it's going to eat into their laptops over time. I know a lot of people that have a MB for email/browsing/movies which is exactly what the iPad is great at.

I've only used my blackberry for phone calls since I got my iPad. Even texts go through text+. My MacBook has only been used for a few things. Pretty much all iPad all the time. And I don't even have to charge it every night.

God, this thing is sweet.

i use my iPhone just about the same as i did before. Only task iPad took away from iPhone was my kindle reading during lunch and dinner. My MacBook Pro on the other hand is getting quite jealous!

I didn't use my iPhone a week after I got my iPad. That is at least partially because it was in pieces as I awaited a new LCD/digitizer. Now that the iPhone has been brought back to life, I only use it when my wife has the iPad!
