Built in or not, I would never replace it as I have never needed more than a few hours on battery. I mean, how long can a man spend in the bathroom? :D

That's not the point, I go on trips and I am hours from power so I am getting another battery to have as a back up.

Yeah, but you can easily buy a new battery for $100 or less and switch it out within seconds which will give you a lot more time running on battery power without plugging it in an outlet. I travel a lot and I need that option which is why I have a second battery. I still don't like the non-removable battery, but to each their own.

well, if Apple's battery life claims are close to reality, you wouldn't want to do that. You'd get more life out of a full charge on the new 17" MBP then you would with 2 fully charged "regular" batteries. And you saved yourself a $100. (Barring, of course, the close to 3K price tag of the MBP).

lol, glad I ain't the only one that does that!

Anywhere that I take my laptop, I have power. I take my laptop to school everyday, and each desk has 4 seats and 4 power outlets and 4 Ethernet ports for each table.

Are you in grad school or just go to a tiny college? I hardly ever sat at a "table" when I was in school..
