Anyone ever go too far when they hold down backspace?

It doesn't appear to do anything to alter or disable the fast delete

Yes it does. Press shirt then press the delete button and it removes whole words per press rather then one letter at a time.

Oh I see. I guess that's technically a workaround. But it doesn't actually do anything to allow you to just hold down the delete button without deleting more than you intended

Shake the phone to undo the deletion.

I just tested that and it doesn't work like you might expect once deletion shifts to a word at a time. In that case you only get back the last full word that was deleted. If you stop deleting when it's still deleting single characters, you get it all back.
