Anyone expering a similar issue? I have an iPad Pro (5th generation, 2021) purchased in November 2021, so within 4 years. I'm trying to add it as the 3rd device to my AppleCare One subscription, but it is saying REPAIR REQUIRED really strangely. It's in perfect condition; has never had a Genius Bar appointment or ongoing service request; etc.

I called AppleCare support and spoke to someone who stated (1) they can't even see the "Repair Required" or any other reasons on their end, and (2) even if I went to an Apple Store and got physical diagnostics and the iPad passed, there would still be no way for even AppleCare HQ to manually add the iPad Pro to AppleCare One, since the system is the one that decides (I didn't like that reason very much).

Anyone else running into a similar issue? Screenshots are attached...

Does your battery settings claim servicing required or if you connect it to the Mac does coconutbattery give a low battery health? That's the only somewhat hidden reason I could think of.

Update - went in-person to an Apple Store and they diagnosed the device to be perfectly fine and not requiring any repairs. Notated that device passed device condition test, but AppleCare One status on my other devices still didn’t let the problematic iPad be added (still said “Repair Required”). Fast forward about 1-2 hours when i got home, walla the “Repair Required” vanished and i was successfully able to add the device to AppleCare One. (Note right before I tried that I also had wiped the device and restored a backup, so not sure if the store’s actions were the reason and the system just needed a couple hours to register that change, or if restoring from backup did it. But before taking the problematic iPad into the Apple Store, I had erased and reset the iPad Pro and it still said “Repair Required,” so I doubt the second erasure would’ve done anything different.)

Basically if anyone else is running into the weird “Repair Required” note and the device doesn’t have an active repair case or whatever, maybe consider it the same as “Take the device in to Apple Store and perform check”.

TBH, I'm really glad I live near an Apple Store. So many of these types of glitches or whatnots is solved by going to their physical store. I have found their technical support (phone and in-person) to be superb. One reason I continue to stick with Apple, among many other reasons.

I think Genius Bar support is just OK – definitely better than AppleCare support over the phone, who (even the senior advisers) truly had no answers. Hope this helps somebody/anybody else!

I'm facing the same issue on my iPhone,

I took it to the Apple Store as well and they said everything was good. The error message is still there for me, even after 3 days.

They keep escalating it on support but it's going nowhere. Incredibly frustrating and not sure what do.

That is frustrating indeed. Have you tried (at risk of sounding like tech support) backing up, erasing, then restoring your iPhone? Maybe that would "shock" the system into re-checking for that...or maybe double-check with the Apple Store Genius that they correctly marked the iPhone as passing the diagnostic and eligible to add AppleCare?

Does anyone have a solution for this? I have the same “repair required” issue for my two macbook pros, but they never had any issues and according to diagnostics they are working fine.

I would make a Genius Bar appointment for a device check for AppleCare. They will likely tell you nothing is wrong, like they told me, but you might see the Repair Required status vanish maybe 24 hours afterward

Perhaps it a request for inspection? Below is from safari search summary.
An "Apple One inspection" is
part of the process for adding devices to the new AppleCare One plan. A device check is required to confirm that the product is in good condition and eligible for coverage
appointment: For a more in-depth assessment, you can schedule an appointment at an Apple Store for an in-person inspection. A Genius Bar technician will examine the device and run diagnostic tests for free.

No, it’s different. There are some devices in the Device List that will truly say DEVICE CHECK REQUIRED. that is different from REPAIR REQUIRED. However, again I believe the best way to fix this is to go to an Apple Store for a Device Check and something about that Genius Bar appointment should “clear” the system and allow AppleCare One to be added.
