iPhone SE (2016) Anyone get their new SE yet?

Anyone enjoy this phone and have normal to large hands? My hands are normal for a male, and typing on a small phone like this is impossible. I wouldn’t be opposed to it, but it’s just so hard to type on and I do a ton of that at work all day long. I could probably relearn it coming from my Plus, but it’s a struggle.

Me. I’m a male with normal sized hands. I haven’t had any issues typing on the SE. I thought I would but I haven’t had any issues.

As much as I love it, there is no phone I'd type a ton all day long on; it's a phone. I'm happy to carry it all day long. If I have to type more than a line or two I wait until I get to my iPad or Laptop, which I don't carry all day long.

I find I can type pretty fast and accurately. However one thing I’ve noticed is the speech to text dictating gets it wrong frequently. Funny thing on android I make more mistakes typing but the dictation is spot on. iPhone it is opposite. I’m glad the KB works as well as it does or I’d be going nuts. Anything very lengthy can wait till I get to my laptop.

Aside from the whole ‘hand size‘ discussion, I don’t even hardly type, I use dictation for Siri for about 90% of my text/workflow. Now, Siri isn’t always accurate and I do have to semi-proofread before I post, but it’s so much quicker than typing and Siri has improved with deciphering with the fluency of dictation over the last three years. [And this is coming from somebody who uses Siri every single day for dictation of reports, email/any form of communication.]

It’s a crucial piece to my daily activity, and I think some major advancements with Siri will be here in the next year or so with machine learning/AI improvement with John Giannandrea acquired from Google.

Siri is very straightforward to use. The majority of ignorant users on a site like this, bash Siri because they don’t have an understanding of how to manipulate it properly.

The key to Siri, is speak slowly and enunciate your words as clearly as possible. Siri isn’t perfect, she will misconstrue various words or use the word in place that has the same spelling, but different meaning.

Also, if you have issues with Siri, you can retrain your voice through the settings if necessary.

@Relentless Power, forgot to mention I have been learning to enunciate more slowly with Siri and it does seem to help but still quite a few typos. Thanks for the input, might try the retraining but I can also add that in all other aspects like requests to open or start something she is spot on. I think she has attitude😜

Ditto on depending on dictation. Due to a brain injury I’m relegated to typing with one hand and dictation is a big time saver.

As I’m holding my 11 Pro one handed to do a voice chat with my friend on Whatsapp.. my fingers started cramping up from how heavy it is.. the SE is looking more tempting by the day...

I tried it on my 7 a couple of years ago and it didn’t work very smoothly. Might be better by now. Gonna give it a try. Thanks
