I've been using this while traveling on a business trip and working long hours at a trade show with heavy use and it's invaluable.

Can Apple still identify a Smart battery case without a receipt for how old and if still in warranty?
Just seen a good deal for one which states new but won't have a receipt for warranty.
I've checked the serial number online and says unable to validate purchase date (https://checkcoverage.apple.com/gb/en/).
Now I know with iPhones the warranty starts when it's activated so easy to know, but how will this work on a smart battery case?
Or for something like this is it tough if you don't have a receipt?
It's a white so I'm worried about the comments in here about discoloration happening as well

Apple didnt even have date of purchase for my MacBook lol, I had to go find a receipt from the retailer i bought it at. If your buying from someone else, your best bet is to ask him where he bought it and see if they can email or print out a receipt for you

Ah... Ok I thought Mac's, iPads, iPhones etc are all via serial number so Apple support. I've asked and no email or paper receipt available... That mean no support? Could Apple not know if it was bought direct from Apple with the serial number maybe?

Been using this mainly for days at work and days out and about and loving it tbh
Regularly getting home with 80% on my phone left with all the power in the case used up
Looking forward to next weekend when I’m out the house both Fri and Sat from about 8am till at least midnight - occasions like that which made me get this case

XR + Smart Battery Case, full day of traveling from Norway to Paris and taking photos and videos the entire day
17 hours, got 15% left
Update: managed around 18 hours, not as long as I would have wanted tbh, but better than any other alternative out there considering the bulk isnt too bad

Got one for Xr. Seems extremely tight and it stopped charging. Had to push further towards connected and started charging again, but case was wrapped around.
Is this normal as new? Also it seems extremely tight fitting. I suppose you're supposed to keep it on, but when I tried to get it off was very tight. Does it give a little after using and inserting/removing a few times?
Anyone got one have any Zagg/bestskinever protectors on back and front does it still fit?

well i have had mine for awhile and it worked great until a few weeks ago - now it just starts randomly disconnecting from power, then reconnecting. Happens more often in my pocket when I am walking around, but can also happen when I just have it in my hands. The case seems tight, but obviously there is something up.

Recap. I had a shiny spot on the bottom of my white battery case (amongst other marks with light use) and I exchanged it for the black one.
I now have a shiny spot that won’t come off on my black one. I keep it in my back pocket a lot. Any ideas what caused it and how to get it out? I hope it’s not from friction.
If you are referring to the outside of the case that’s just where the silicone wears down the quickest. It happen in about 6 spots on my black one within 2 weeks. My white one conceals them easier and actually stays cleaner (I thought the white would get dirty faster).

Yup, this is where the silicone starts to break down. My 6s case is like this. It appears as if it’s peeling, sorta but you don’t see any peel.
For me, it was basically where the fingerprints really start to show up. Once the silicon surface (I liken it to a powdered latex glove) starts to wear down in the heavier contact areas it gets shiny and fingerprints show way worse.

I upgraded my X to the XS Max almost a month ago. I would like to buy the smart battery case, but don’t know if it’s worth it with the new iPhones coming out in 5 months 3 weeks. Would you buy the case if you think you may upgrade in September?
