Anyone getting the newly announced XS/MAX/XR Battery Case?

This is how long it took for my smart battery case to die today. My phone finished restoring over night and the case definitely lasted longer today. you can see how my usage was for today based on the screen time stats. I would say about 30-45 minutes of that time was before I took the phone off the charger.

I got the white one for the XS max and I am now noticing a yellow stain in the top corner and a white circle toward the bottom (I’m thinking the area is the original color of the case)

I’m thinking of exchanging it for the black one. Thoughts ?

Black won't show discoloration as obvious as the white. It won't hurt to try it.

Promptly exchanged for a black one and couldn’t be happier.

Woke up this morning and it’s the 2nd time that I’ve seen the case do a weird little thing that when it’s on 1% it tricks the phone to think that it’s constantly being unplugged and plugged in again. Only way to stop it from happening is that I take the case off and put it back on.

Is this happening to anyone else? I’ve owned the case since day 1.

Nah I literally bought it the day before and exchanged it the next day.

She saw the stain and I said that just appeared overnight. She replied - So it came like this?

If it’s feb. 5. Then likely you are past the Return window. However doesn’t hurt to ask politely. Sometimes managers can make an exception.

I can’t decide if it’s a product defect or not. The yellow didn’t show up until recently but the white spot showed up in days.

If I am not mistaken, silicone has a habit of turning yellow over time. Some people experience it sooner than others, depending on usage and environment.

Stopped into the apple store today and asked to exchange. I held my phone up to the sample case and it looked like ****. He promptly exchanged it for the black one no problem, even though it was past the exchange date.

I actually think the black one looks better.

Thats my only concern, I really like the white case, much more than the black, biggest concern has been discolouration and marks showing, but hopefully i wont experience any of those issues and be one of the lucky ones

I've asked some of the same questions. I've decided just to keep mine on and charge both case and phone together once my iPhone gets low. I've been consistently getting about 2 days out of this combination and i'm happy with that. I thought about taking the case off once it's out of battery but I don't want to consistently take it on and off. I'd be curious to hear how others are using it.

My case just died a few minutes ago. from 815am CST to 1038pm CST, so I basically got 14.5 hours of use. My iPhone X is 14 months old, with 88% battery capacity. When my X battery gets low, I will charge till both case and phone are at 100%. So I expect to have to charge again midday tomorrow. if I can get to 1030pm tomorrow, then IMO the case is worth it to me. I'll be checking in with battery health numbers too.

FWIW, my battery health has been at 88% since August.

If you just started using it you will see it jump around. Once you have had it a while it will level out and you will also stop checking the level. You will get to the point you only look to see if its providing a charge to the phone. Mine moved around a lot at first, now I never notice. I do know it lasts most of my day and have only gone to the phone battery a few times on "normal" days.

I just picked one up yesterday, the black one for the Xs. I loved it back when I had the iPhone 7 and I really wished they had come out with it in Red for the Xs. I use my phone a lot at work and now I can be assured that it will last the whole day without me requiring to charge it up.

basically 11pm now. So from 815am on Thursday to 11pm Friday night. So 39 hours...not bad. I like how the case and battery charge together and when at 100% the case uses ITS battery before the phone battery.

I bought another Smart Battery Case after returning my original one. I put the new one on my phone on February 19, and I took it off yesterday (February 28); my battery health is at 97%.
