AT&T does it too
Ok then. Jeez I wish they wouldn't do that. Guess in reality it's no different than buying something full price and then sending in a rebate form.
AT&T does it too
Man, I don't know what to believe anymore. Another person was told the same thing- they'd have the iPhone in a day or 2 after ordering on the 3rd.
As far as pricing- Some people are being told by Verizon EMPLOYEES they have not announced pricing, the Verizon FAQ now says $649/$749, Apple.com if you put in your info says $599/$699. WTF why would VZW be quoting a higher price?
Supposedly you can also Pre-order from Apple themselves as well on Feb 3rd at 12:01. If that's the case, I'll order straight from Apple if the price difference is what it is now. Besides with Apple for me in CA it's basically free overnight shipping anyhow. I'm all confused.
HELL no. I am not trying to lose download speeds and simultaneous voice/data. I have faith in AT&T. I think this will be a good year. We may even get 3G facetime.![]()
it seems like these forums cant make up their mind. either vzw employees dont know what they are talking about or people here like to make **** up, im hoping for the former. as far as the apple/vzw pricing goes, i noticed that too and just assumed the apple price was before tax
Yep. I need to stay off these forums, they start to drive me insane after a few days. I've been a member for a few years I think and rarely post. The only forum I go to where I frequently have to argue with a bunch of wanna-be's. LOL. Anyhow, if the prices stick and VZW charges tax ON TOP of the extra $50, I'll definitely be buying it from Apple if they ofer it on the 3rd as well.
I doubt it, every single upgrade I have ever gotten via an upgrade with Verizon here in California has been taxed at the FULL retail price. My wife recently upgraded to a BB world phone 2 months ago (bold or tour whatever the hell it's called) for $50 yet paid tax on $499. It's upsetting to say the least and I questioned the legality of it. Would be nice if it was different though. Same thing with my original Droid too. $199 upgrade with tax on $599.
I'm well aware of that fact, we had to pay $50 in taxes on a droid incredible we bought last year. That being said, I don't think this is how iphones are sold.
Maybe this stems from me buying the phone at an actual apple store and not through ATT
Maybe. I'm no expert except when it comes to Verizon fees. I'm still bewildered by Verizon charging a $50 premium over Apple though.
I just don't see how Apple could avoid charging the same tax. Unless it's not considered an "instant rebate" through them. That could certainly be true and another case of Verizon just milking it.
Man, ok, ok, $50 isn't a ton of money but, $599 is a chunk of change. Plus $50 in tax we're at $650 even more of a chunk. But, I've set aside the money and planned for it. There's still just something about them now announcing it @ $649 PLUS tax = $700 that realy rubs me the wrong way.
I wonder if the fact that they are not budging on early upgrades to loyal customers and then adding a $50 premium, will cost them any existing customers? Seems like for all the wait, they're moving sideways.
