I just got mine but I plan to still be using it as 2015 rolls around (as long as we all make it past 2012:D)

What are you talking about? This thread is filling up with testimonials about how long other folks MBP's are lasting. As I mentioned in my earlier post in this thread, my MBP is on year 5 and still going strong. I'm using it right now to type this message.

I doubt that a similarly priced PC will have better quality than the Apple laptop.

My brother owns an 11 yr. old Dell Laptop. It's running windows 98, built like a tank (and is the size of one, too!) but it runs great. Used strictly for internet. It has a wifi card in it. He HAS been thru several AC adapter, however. But he gets them dirt cheap on ebay. My MBP is almost 5. SuperDrive no longer writes, but still reads. Still runs great otherwise.

My early 2008 MBP, almost 3 years old is working perfectly. Only exchanged the charger under Applecare and the DVDR does not record DVDs (it reads them though, so it's not a big deal) cause I dropped it and hit exactly that corner (it's a little bit deformed, nothing dramatic). Other than that (which is my fault), the computer is as fast as ever and everything works as expected.

Mine is a used 2.16 15" MBP. Currently using same for more than 24 months, its more than 50 months old and works like a champ except for battery backup about 45 mins. Rest all is in super shape hope to retain and run till it falls apart.
Have just upgraded the ram to 3 gb which is max.
