I'm just trying to get people to stop being so gullible. Rumors of the iPad 3 are a farce. If Apple hasn't said anything at all about it, it doesn't exist!

Not a chance. The iPad2 was really an iPad1s but no one wants to admit it

As I said before, new CPU, more RAM, thinner, cameras, smart cover. All that and it's not worthy of being a full point upgrade? What else would you say it needed to be worthy of being "iPad2"?

That means nothing. Just like the iPod touch with vibration. These people literally make this stuff up. Remember the iPhone 5 in that bar?

Yeah, *hmph*

There were never any leaked parts of the supposed iPhone 5, just unreliable bloggers speculating and blurry photos of a phone on a train in SF. And as far as the lost iPhone 5 in the bar, it was most likely a 4S that was lost in the bar and no one paid it any attention because it shared the same case design as the 4. To say that there won't be an iPad 3/2S anytime soon is silly. I'll place my bets with Jim Dalrymple and his sources/friends within Apple.

Why do you think that? It was redesigned, lighter, thinner, faster. Does that not warrant its "iPad 2" title?

Because specs-wise, it wasn't a huge increase over iPad 1. It was better, sure, but it wasn't enough to really warrant an iPad 2. The rumours around the time suggested that the iPad 2 would have a retina display but it got canned at the last minute, hence it really just being a 1S.

It was a good jump spec wise?

What ever rumours people got excited about is their own fault. its still a second version and warrants the iPad 2 name

If they are going to call it the iPad 3 it should have:

- Retina display
- LTE
- 12 MP front and back cameras
- 512 GB storage
- 8-core i7 processor
- 4 GB RAM
- Built-in dishwasher
- Grappling hook
- PEZ dispenser

Otherwise I'd really just consider it a iPad 2S.

I think you forgot duct tape and safety pin. ;)

Shall we call it the Swiss Army iPad?

I don't agree. If they stick with non-retina for yet another year they'll be way behind the times. There's android tables out NOW with HiDPI, not quite 2048x1536 but very close. In a year's time 1024x768 will be really old tech.

I don't think Apple cares so much about releasing it just after christmas, it sure didn't bother them with the iPad 2. They might hold off on it for a month but they wouldn't drop features just because some people might feel bad.

People buy christmas presents anyway (and a lot of them getting a big discount at the black friday sales).

Apple TV and iTunes are still 720P while their competition is putting out 1080P, 720P is looked at as behind the times. I don't think Apple bases their products to the competition but to their plan.
