Anyone having Pascal driver glitches? GTX 1060 glitchy after wake-up!

^^^^Because those were the only "official" Mac cards sold that were issued as "Mac Edition". See this from Nvidia's web site concerning Pascal Cards.

That's exactly the point. Only those card are the official Mac card. All other cards are in grey area. Web driver also supported for those iMac, Macbook, etc, but in beta support. Those are also official Mac GPU, but even that, Nvidia only willing to officially call it a beta support. It's really hard to say that the Pascal / Maxwell support are not considered beta. In fact, by considering it can't provide 100% support in MacOS (e.g. iBook bug), even that's not Nvidia's fault but Apple's fault. Call it a beta driver make more sense.
As fas as I know, the web driver provide much better support for those iMac, macbook's GPU. Less bug, more mature, but Nvidia still call them beta support.
In fact, they clearly mention it's beta support for Maxwell card. Even though they didn't mention this word in the Pascal post. But it's hard to believe that Maxwell still beta (they never officially upgrade the Maxwell support from beta to official), but Pascal is official. Also, clearly the Maxwell driver has better quality than Pascal at this moment.

Anyway, no matter it's beta or not, it's the only driver we can use. But for me, unless Nvidia update the driver download page to clearly put these cards in the official support list. I personally will consider that's still at the beta stage. A blog is just a blog, not as formal as the driver download page. The blog is more for releasing information, marketing, public relationship, etc. Not for precise determination if the Pascal driver are official or beta. Lack of the word "beta" in a blog post doesn't mean it is not beta. If we straightly follow every single word in that blog post, and believe those words covered 100% the fact, then only TitanXP is supported, not any other Pascal card. Any Pascal GPU's are not belongs to the "award winning" group has no support at all.
Does anyone have any screenshots or video of these glitches? We read a lot about them but having not experienced them myself I would love to see them.
I wonder if they would show up. I guess I'll try when I get the change. (My Mac Pro is packed up right now for my move.)
It's fairly typical, though: just picture a flickery spazz upon windows.
Every single time - without fail - that I wake my machine up from sleep, it gives me these issues; I immediately have to log out and then back in. The computer is essentially not usable while the glitches are appearing. The entire UI is glitch-filled, laggy, and incorrect in appearance. Nothing graphical will work properly.

I am not at my Mac Pro for the rest of the day; however, if anyone is present at theirs and is willing to try out the new OS update + driver, he should, kindly, let us know if the 10.13 driver provides a fix for the misery that our GTX 1060s are going through. 🙂
It's happening with GTX 1060s and some 1050tis (or possibly normal 1050s) under Mac OS - both within Mac Pros and within Hackintoshes. (And, I am assuming the same applies for those using eGPU kits.)

Latest driver for High Sierra? (Also, what's your machine?)

Would I be able to just VNC into my Mac, complete the OS setup, and then set the NVIDIA control panel to use the proper drivers - in spite of the fact that the OS is coupled with a 5,1 firmware update?
(I'd also like to know when the firmware update occurs... is it during or post installation?)
OR, I could install High Sierra onto a flash drive (from my MacBook) - whilst making sure not to select the new file system (if that is at all possible) - set up the NVIDIA drivers properly on that installation, and then clone that all to my Mac Pro? Then, I can apply the firmware update there, assuming I can download said update separately. Lastly, I can convert the final-destination Mac Pro drive to the new file system.

When you hit download in the AppStore high Sierra will download. It will then say you need to do the firmware update. After that. High Sierra will install.

Was the web driver updated for HS?
I have an unflashed 1080 in my 5,1, there is definitely UI lag at times, used to also be pretty bad after screen saver or display sleep for an extended period but recent versions have fixed that at least.

Yeah it was the other day, not sure if cuda is updated yet though.
Silly question. It sounds like you guys on this forum go to nvidias site every time to update. I just use the nvidia driver manager that ends up permanently on the top right of my screen. So whenever there is an update it just tells me and I just go through the motions of updating it.
Edit: (forgot to include the question) how do you guys do the updates?

You might want to be a little more polite to people you don’t know...
My pref pane for the Nvidia driver shows no new update since the last one a few weeks ago, hence why I asked, as I’ve seen many also mention across the web that Nvidia has stated their isn’t any new driver forthcoming at the moment...
But you’re right, I must be incapable of using OS X properly, I’ve only been doing it for half my life.
Woah hold the phone dude, I wasn't being rude at all. It was a genuine question. I thought the question was a bit dumb due to my inexperience so I called it a silly question. I just wanted to know what others did in comparison to what I do as what I do has just been from trial and error.

My point was - it’s not really a silly question as it’s a rather important aspect of dealing with any Nvidia GPUs these days....I apologize if I misunderstood but it doesn’t seem I did...either way, seems like the Nvidia web driver hasn’t been updated so I guess unflashed Nvidia GPUs are a no-go
There was an nvidia webdriver update the day after high sierra was officially released. I know people were waiting on a cuda update though. The web driver update was released on the 27th.

Yeah, you're doing it fine. Although, I seem to personally not be getting a notification within the control panel. I guess I just gotta pop in a flashed card, do the OS update, and then get the driver installed manually - then put my 1060 back in.
BTW, know that you will NEED a flashed card for the prior firmware update. I kinda have to wait a while because I left my spare flashed card in my hometown.

Thanks. Although, sadly, I had totally forgotten that a flashed card is necessary for the firmware update. Ugh. I accidentally left my GT 120 in my hometown. I might have to wait until Thanksgiving to update.
